Mitchell Hamline Native Justice Scholarship

I’m really interested applying to Mitchell Hamline next application cycle as many of their values align with my life experiences. I’m reading about their Native Justice scholarship, and as a registered member of the Cherokee tribe, I am interested in this potential scholarship. On their website, it reads that tuition is no more than 40k total; however, since we all have been studying for the LSAT, this possibility could mean paying a total of 40k instead of possibly less. 40k isn’t the worst for law school, but I certainly would like to pay less if feasible. And, I certainly would not want to limit scholarship money should I apply for this scholarship.

I’m wondering, hopefully from anyone that has received this scholarship: has anyone received this scholarship and paid cumulatively less than 40k for law school? Or is the 40k statement a bit of marketing, and that’s what everyone who receives it pays instead of a better merit scholarship?

FWIW, I got a 161 lsat score on the April LSAT, and taking it again in June. My LSAC calculated GPA is a 3.2 stem major. Thanks for the wisdom!
