LSAT

I'm assuming that most people considering a Hybrid Program is because they have other obligations that they have to attend to daily. Like kids and working full time. Obviously this could really hurt an LSAT score. So I'm curious, did anyone with a crap LSAT get in anywhere? I'm talking sub 155. I just want to know if a hybrid school would typically take a more holistic approach when considering applicants then a traditional program.

Question about hybrid/online program median scores

I'm currently waiting to get back my August LSAT score, and then likely taking the LSAT again in September. While waiting (and studying more) I've been using the admissions predictor tool in 7sage to try and give myself a realistic idea of where I should apply, and where I could possibly get scholarship money. My LSAT should be high enough to get me in to most of the schools I want to apply to, but my GPA is going to make me a splitter at pretty much every school I apply to.

I heard (somewhere but can't remember where) that hybrid and online programs may be harder to get in to than just the regular on campus programs if the school offers both. I wanted to see if anyone has any information on that? Is that true? Is it true at just some schools? If it is true, should I be adding a few points to the listed LSAT medians to see where I land in comparison? Any info would be great! Thanks!

Albany 25-26 cycle decisions

How many of us applied to Albany during the 2025-2026 cycle and never received a decision (being waitlisted is considered a decision here, because you at least heard back)?

PARANOID about starting

Small vent: I’m a single mom of 2 and work full time, remote from home so I do have free time during typical afternoons. Starting orientation at ONU this week and have genuinely been considering quitting every day already 🤣 I also feel like my scholarship wasn’t great, but that’s beside the point at this point!

Any experience with ONU part time or genuine information on how much of a workload it will be is appreciated 😅 I’m mainly just overthinking on the time commitment and also the ROI from going to law school in the first place.

I change my mind approximately every thirty minutes lol

Suffolk APO odds with no masters degree?

I've been enjoying and appreciating he Suffolk APO threads here. The way Suffolk words things makes me worried they are looking for executives, engineers, or people with masters degrees. I have a 3.5 gpa, 162 Lsat from this June. I'm 15 years removed from school. No masters degree. I was in marketing, then self employed 7 years in ecommerce. Top year I grossed almost 500k and grossed 6 figures each year until 2024-2025 it crashed spectactularly due to market changes and I had huge turning point. I started a job last year thats pretty early career in title and duties. Unfortunately I'm no executive or even manager at age 39. I don't see a long term future in this field and I'm pivoting to law. Im wondering if I have a shot. Has anyone without an advanced degree been admitted?

Letters of recommendation?

For those of you who are career changers and who worked while attending school, how did you handle letters of recommendation? I'm 10+ years out of undergrad and so academic letters aren't an option. Asking work colleagues/supervisors seems very risky to continuing employment.

Hybrid Suggestions- New York

I'm interested in attending law school in the next couple of years. I'm in my late 20s, I have a decent job as a Fire Chief (shift work, with a promotion likely to a M-F schedule) in the lower Hudson Valley. My job has a lot of free time in between calls and training, which helped me get my MPA last year.

I'm aware of the pros and cons of choosing law, and I'm past that.

Frankly, I'm looking into hybrid law programs that the NYS Bar accepts, with some flexibility due to my schedule. I'd prefer one with online components, but if I get this promotion in a year or so, Pace is on my list as well as it's less than 25 minutes away.

Any suggestions? Don't bite!!

Edit: additionally, I'm in Albany often as my grandfather is there too. I've looked into Albany Law-thoughts?

GPA Addendum Necessary?

Hello all. Just took the August LSAT and am applying to a few schools as soon as I get my score back.

My GPA is rather low at 2.59 and I wondered if I should write a GPA addendum? TBH, my high school is one of the worst in my state and doesn’t really prepare people well for college. I never had to study, just went to class and listened, and made it to the top 25 students in my graduating class of over 300. I then went on to college and struggled due to not knowing how to truly study, taught myself how and did improve as college went on. I know this isn’t a great excuse, but it’s the truth.

When I decided I wanted to get into the legal field, I went to paralegal school right out of college and finished with a 3.55 GPA. The program started 2 weeks after I graduated undergrad and was only 12 weeks long, so clearly I didn’t magically become that much smarter in such a short period of time. It’s just that I finally learned how to study and that I was studying a field I was deeply interested in.

Any advice on if I should write an addendum and if so, good ways to explain this? TIA!

Albany acceptance

I have been lurking around here for a while, I just thought it might be helpful to share my journey with others since I have found other's posts to be very helpful.

I applied to a few hybrid schools, aiming for the ones that would allow NY bar admission. I just got accepted to Albany yesterday 8.7. I sat for the April exam and applied at the beginning of June due to foreign transcripts taking too long to arrive.I got 160 on the LSAT and I won't even mention my GPA since I am embarrassed by it. I am an older student with lots of work experience (20+ years) though, so I think this helped offset the GPA shortcomings. I was afforded a modest scholarship (~1/3 of total tuition)

Good luck to everyone who was accepted for this cycle, as well as to all those applying for the next.

How long are the classes?

I can’t remember where I saw this, but someone had mentioned they were a 1L and had a 3.5 hour synchronous class. Is this typical? Are all or most of the classes this long?

Email from Vermont

Has anyone received an email from Vermont stating they would be thrilled to offer admissions if a seat becomes available? I don’t want to get my hopes up but the email was very positive. Are my chances high at getting in?

Is Civ Pro Really 3 Hours And 20 Minutes?

Hi everyone! I'm trying to get my life together before classes start and I think I'm a little in shock. I guess I didn't know what I was expecting, but I saw on my schedule for the fall that civ pro is scheduled from 6pm to 9:20pm.

Is is really true that the class is 3 hours and 20 minutes? Is there actual instruction that entire time?

I just want to manage my time and expectations correctly.

Thankful for any info!
