Killing off dogs (Hirohiko Araki) In almost every part of JoJo's bizarre adventure, there is a dog that will get killed on screen. It happens so often that it's more surprising when a dog appears and survives.

Poison swamps in the souls series (Hidetaka Miyazaki)

In all of the games in the souls series, elden ring, bloodborne, etc. There WILL be a swamp biome that WILL apply a dot effect to the player if they so much as dip their toes in the water. It WILL be filled with some of the most aggressive enemies in the game, you WILL be happy, and NO I'm not mad.

Barcus Wroot & Wulbren Bongle (Baldur's Gate 3)

- Throughout the game, Barcus goes out of his way to find and save Wulbren with the player's help. Despite his help, love, and general kindness, Wulbren constantly berates him, threatens him, and is a huge asshole in general. Fuck Wulbren Bongle.

Ichiban Kasuga & Masato Arakawa (Yakuza: Like a Dragon)

- After being essentially adopted into the Yakuza by Masato's father, Masumi Arakawa, Ichiban and Masato become brothers. Ichiban cares for him greatly and helps take care of him as he is wheelchair bound. However the relationship is very one-sided on Ichiban's part as Masato frequently insults him, exploits his good nature, and acts like a rich asshole (he is). Ichiban even gladly takes the fall for a crime committed by his Yakuza family, later revealed to have been done by Masato. Long story short, Masato treats Ichiban like dirt, and Ichiban is too good-natured to stop him intially.
