Since it’s finally October, it’s time I get to sharing my personal prompts for Splatober (and some pieces from 2024 when I actually had the time to do a mostly full month)
I won’t be doing any prompts this year cause of college, but good luck and have fun to those who are✨
Something quick I cooked up to celebrate
College has been keeping me busy, so until recently I haven’t had much time or energy to draw anything new.
It was nice to draw my Cap’n 3 again, haven’t done so in a few months. And the lil owl is her pet✨
Some character refs done for my comic, Requiem!
Since today marks Deep cut's 4th reveal anniversary, I decided it was to stop procrastinating and finally get these posted.
And yes, Master Mega is a Makoid here! I already hinted at him being more sapient than canon because of the phone number line in the comic, but here’s his ref for now.
That epilogue will come whenever it’s done and no sooner

I was gonna post some Requiem stuff, but I noticed it’s 8/8 day so how about some of my Eight instead
First piece is something I posted on Deviantart earlier this year, second is her general ref and last is her and my Cap’n 3. First one had a version that looked more in line with her ref but I lost it while I was switching IPads (still a lil beat up about it)
Her name is Chihiro, btw!
Yeah I know it’s not actually tomorrow, but I’m planning to banish myself from the internet to avoid spoilers, so this will be my last post for a bit
Apparently this page got pulled from another subreddit, don’t know why but here it is
Master mega has a phone number
It's already clear that the Makoids are a thing in my universe, so you can probably guess where that's going

Putting the rest of the pages into one post because posting them separately is considered spam

(Another one with no CW warning)
Well, yes! (Me quoting something that literally one one will get)
Something a little different with the squid/Octo icons for the speech bubbles. I was getting tired of drawing these guys over and over again and it didn’t seem necessary for this scene.
Also, this was the final page completed for this comic!

Another favorite of mine, what can I say, the split panel on top turned out incredibly. Shocked expressions are also just super fun to draw (especially with these three fuckers)
Aaand you’ve also got your first taste of what this AU’s all about. Go ahead and give a guess as to what that is cause I can’t give more information we get to the end

I’ve got a real soft spot for this one- not just because of these idiots being wholesome, It was where my comic making ability really started to improve
I already stated that I did most of the comic out of order, and I think this is kinda where there’s a smoking gun for that because of Big Man’s patterns changing slightly (the stripes near his “neck” and bumpy outlines on his underside borders, if that makes any sense) which aren’t present in the first couple of pages
At the end of the day, when you’re making a comic you’re not gonna be able to make every little detail consistent, lmao

Not much to say about this one tbh, other than perspective kicks my ass

(No CW for this one, yay)
Anyways, there she is!
This page was supposed to have a different background than what it ended up being just because of how the characters were facing in other pages (long story short, this comic was done wildly out of order)

I bring to you a break in our scheduled programming (AKA Requiem) since Raiders drops next week, and I'm still crazy bout Shiver ever since the big direct, especially that lil performance at the end. And the next few pages of Requiem are centered around her so it still fits.
As well as a version without text, here’s an alternate version with a Raider’s inspired background (since I didn’t know where to find a proper one), I think I did good on it and didn’t want it to go to waste
(CW warning for language)
The things I do to my sleep schedule…
I wanna make sure this is fully put by the time Raiders releases (especially since I’m going to banish myself from the internet to avoid spoilers)

I gotta say I love writing dialogue, almost as much as I love angst

This page is one of my favorites from this comic. Doing three-way split panels will never not be fun as they always make for really cool compositions
And yes, I know IRL Manta rays don’t have stingers, but most of Big Man’s species does in my universe- he just never uses it unless the situation is dire like here.

Since this page contains some intense language, I’ve decided to put a spoiler warning for anyone who might be sensitive
I’ll start putting warnings on other pages from now on as well
Well, the Makoids are pirates after all. What else would you expect, lol
