A love that will last forever ❤️
I would like to thank everyone in this group.
Marley was the love of my life. He was there through every stage of my life: the end of high school, my college graduation, buying my own home, and my professional growth. Marley was deeply loved throughout the 15 years he spent with us. My parents, my sister, and I loved him endlessly.
When I decided to proceed with euthanasia, I turned to this group to find out if anyone else had gone through the same experience. More than forty people came forward, sharing the same love and the same feelings.
Choosing euthanasia was not easy. The veterinarian who had also cared for Marley for years cried a lot, too.
On the day of the euthanasia, Marley was radiant. Somehow, it felt as though he knew what was about to happen. I made sure our entire family was there, and it was a truly beautiful farewell.
Marley helped us become better human beings, brought our family closer together, and taught us to rediscover the meaning of love.
At the moment of the euthanasia, the four of us were gathered around him, and he was lying in my arms. I cried as though nothing else in the world existed. All I could say to him was, “The pain is gone, my love. Everything is okay now. Go in peace. I love you so much.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed and sent me strength in one way or another. I made a point of coming back here to express my gratitude because I could not have made this decision on my own.
I am also taking away a lesson I learned from all of you: the love we share with our four-legged companions does not end when they leave us. One day, I will welcome another companion into my life, but I will carry with me everything Marley taught me.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Until we meet again. ❤️
