I have always been curious about it. Now I sort of have a reason to learn more!

Recently found something that I thought in passing kind of resembled a bed bug egg. I held it solidly in between my fingers for a good amount of time where it kind of felt like a solidish object, but before fully getting to take a good look at it, it must have slipped out of my fingers or something. Note that the entire time I had it held it did not crack or crumble.

So curious, do what do bed bug eggs feel like to touch? Do they lose shape and get destroyed easily ( like in the situation I found it in)? Or are they able to retain their structure even when being handled like that.
