My mother has a living Trust and she had a stroke.

Im wondering what to do, my mother (78) has a living trust and im the only beneficiary, in California. She had a major stroke in January and is in a post acute facility. I contacted the Ombudsman and she went to see my mother, my mother isnt mentally capable to sign over any power of attorney, I knew this already since her brain damage is severe. So I went to the family county court today to see if they can help me. They said I should get an attorney. My question is do I need an attorney if the living trust names me as her caretaker in case of medical emergency? I have access to her checking account which im paying the bills with for now, but big bills are coming and I need access to her savings. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

▲ 4 r/stroke

My mother (78) is in a post acute facility and this is the second time she has pulled out her stomach feeding tube in a month. She had to go to the hospital and have it re-inserted then and now shes on her way again to the hospital for re-insertion. She had a major stroke at the end of January this year. Once when I was visiting her I noticed her feeding tube was very tight, like stretching from either changing her or somehow got wrapped under her. I notified the nurse and they fixed it. They say she pulled it out when she was being changed this time but how do I know they didnt accidentally pull it out an blame her or if she did pull it out, why would she? Its very nerve wracking anytime I get a call from them and I hope she isnt trying to end her life.
