Hey everyone,
I’m setting up Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation (TWS) for U.S. stock day trading and trying to build a clean, practical layout that actually works in live markets.
I’m using a 2-monitor setup, and I want to keep things simple and efficient (mostly trading large-cap stocks intraday, no options or futures).
I’d really appreciate if people could share their actual working setups.
Specifically:
1. How do you use 2 monitors with TWS?
- What goes on each screen?
- Do you split execution vs charts, or mix everything in one workspace?
2. What do you actually keep inside TWS?
- Watchlist?
- Level 2 / Time & Sales?
- Order entry / BookTrader?
- News feed?
- Anything you’ve removed because it was unnecessary?
3. Do you use external tools alongside TWS?
- Do you chart in TradingView and only execute in TWS?
- Any other tools you rely on (scanners, news, etc.)?
- Or do you try to keep everything inside TWS?
4. What helped you simplify your setup the most?
I feel like it’s easy to overbuild dashboards, so I’m trying to avoid that.
If you’re willing, screenshots or rough diagrams of your layout would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance - I’m mainly trying to see how people actually structure their workflow in real trading, not demo setups or overly complex YouTube configs.
