Newbie question-Hobie 17 rigging

Hey all, I’m a new Hobie owner and trying to figure out how to rig my Hobie 17. Found a few good YouTube videos, but wondering if someone can tell me (1) is this is right place to attach this rigging? The second picture is the very front of the hulls. And (2) how do I secure it? Just a small shackle?

Replacing the trampoline on a 17

I’m struggling to replace the trampoline on a Hobie cat 17. I learned from the group that I need to remove the whole “end cap” but even after loosening the screws, I can’t get enough room to pull the old trampoline out. How do I remove the top of the black cap? Am I missing something?

Leech-Is this an issue?

Hey all! New sailing here with a question on my standing rigging. Does this leech book right? Does it need to be tightened? This is my second season, and I don’t remember it being so loose/floppy last year. Thanks for any thoughts!

How do I remove this part of the trampoline?

I’m installing a new trampoline, but can’t figure out how to remove the old one! The sides slid out, but I’m not sure how to “open” the back so that the old trampoline can slide out. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Can't keep the GV80 Coupe clean

I bought a new GV80 coupe a few weeks ago, and am looking for some help. Every time I wash my car, the driver side is covered in grease within minutes. I can't tell if it's the tires, or if I'm missing something. Any one else have this experience?

Recalibrating Raymarine ST4000?

Hi all, I have a very old Raymarine ST4000 system, and the depth is the only measurement that is actually working. The speed always displays zero, and the wind speed looks to be displacing random number. The wind direction is also wrong. The screen on the autohelm component is shot, so I just ordered a replacement screen so I can try to recalibrate and see if that works.

Anyone ever have a similar situation? Just looking for any tips, and trying to see the odds of a recalibration actually fixing the wind and speed measurement. Thanks!

Hey all, looking for some advice after a scary day on the water. I was moving my sailboat (Endeavor 33) from winter storage to the docks. As I got onto Lake Michigan, the wind picked up greatly. Probably about 25 knots. My front sail came unfurled, and we couldn't do anything to get it under control. The sail wouldn't furl, and even when I tried to put the boat in irons, the load was so strong we couldn't really do anything. The genoa ended up tearing, and even when we tried to just lower the halyard, the load was too much, and we couldn't get it down. We ended up getting a tow back into the river and we'll try a different day.

I'm about 99% that the genoa was rigged correctly, but it definitely might have been furled incorrectly.

I am trying to (1) figure out what happened, (2) get advice on what I should have done once it was under load and we couldn't recover.

Thank you for any advice.
