Feedback wanted for FriendlyChat: Meet Friends – What would you change to keep using it?

Hey everyone,

I’m the developer of FriendlyChat: Meet Friends, a new social discovery app focused on meaningful connections instead of endless scrolling and cluttered feeds.

It features:

  • Interest-based public group chat rooms (tech, gaming, travel, photography, and more)
  • Smart discovery feed to find people who share your passions
  • Unlimited private messaging with no paywalls or credits
  • Clean, minimalist UI with beautiful gradients and smooth performance
  • Strong focus on safety and a respectful community

The app is completely free to use and available on the Play Store. I just pushed a recent update improving public page loading speed and overall performance.

I’m actively looking for honest user feedback to make it better. What would you change about the app?

  • What features are missing that would make you use it more?
  • What do you like/dislike about the current design or experience?
  • Any bugs, annoyances, or improvements that would help you keep coming back?
  • Ideas for new rooms, discovery tools, moderation, or anything else?

Your suggestions will directly help shape the next updates. Screenshots attached!

Thanks in advance for trying it out and sharing your thoughts — I really appreciate the community input! 🙏

Started this app from scratch with no audience — just consistency, lots of debugging, updates, redesigns, and learning along the way.

There were definitely moments where growth slowed down or things didn’t work as expected, but continuing to improve the app little by little really helped.

Seeing real people use something I built is honestly one of the best feelings.

Still a long way to go, but I’m excited for what’s next 🚀

Hi everyone,

Since the beginning of May my app’s daily users/downloads suddenly dropped from around 25+ per day to about 10 per day. I haven’t received any policy warnings, my ratings are stable, and the app is still live normally on Google Play.

I did update the app recently, but nothing major changed. I’m wondering if this could be related to Play Store ranking changes, reduced impressions, or something with the algorithm.

Has anyone else experienced a similar drop recently?

Put a lot into this from the start, trying to build something that actually works and people would use.

Now it’s at 771 users.

It’s not even about the number, it’s just the feeling… people actually using something I built from nothing.

There were a lot of moments where things didn’t work, where I wasn’t sure if it was even worth it. Seeing this now just hits different.

Still feels weird checking the numbers and realizing it’s real.

Just really grateful for how it’s going so far.
