I had something in mind months ago, it wasn't the main focus of the movie, in fact it was quite the stretch, it's forgotten now. Not asking for that one but something similar to the following that we've already watched together. Preferably not horror as I always have to trick her into watching them. And nothing oedipal e.g. Psycho

• Ingrid Goes West - While the mom is not present in the film, she is the catalyst for Ingrid's journey.
• Babadook - Already watched with mom. Challenging relationship but anyone but the mom would have given up on such a kid.
• Lady Bird
• Relic
• Panic Room
