I'm trying to remember a movie (or maybe it was a series or episode in a series?) where the plot was around a future world state where crops not being able to grow was impacting survival of mankind and a scientist came up with a biogenically enhanced insect that will help crops grow in areas that are infertile. I sort of remember a hidden facility where the experiment was being facilitated where maybe someone stole the insects? I want to say it had a "brand name" actor and actress in it? Totally drawing a blank on this one and not able to get anything on an internet search that helps.
