Zone 7a. Is it possible that this was due to grubs or disease or something else? I put down grub ex already so that hopefully this can’t happen again if this was due to grubs. How long do you think it will take for this to come back?

Edit: a lot of people are saying the photos are misleading. The first picture is me looking east and in the top right corner you can see a corner of a shed. The 2nd picture is me standing at the shed and looking west. I posted a picture several times in the thread that is me, today, standing in the same spot where I took the 1st photo. The grass doesn’t look as bad, but the 2nd photo shows the true damage better.
