Help me choose: Dresden, Augsburg, Trier (Data Science/NLP), RPTU, or Siegen for CS?
Hey everyone,
I have deferred my enrollment to the Winter 2026 semester. I need some honest, unfiltered advice on which university I should choose from a part-time (Werkstudent) and full-time job perspective.
Here are my options:
TU Dresden – M.Sc. Computer Science
University of Augsburg – M.Sc. Informatik
University of Trier – M.Sc. Data Science
University of Trier – M.Sc. Natural Language Processing
RPTU Kaiserslautern – M.Sc. Computer Science
University of Siegen – M.Sc. Computer Science
A few quick questions to help me decide:
- Which one has the most manageable workload? I want to work 15–20 hours a week, so I need a flexible curriculum, not a theoretical nightmare.
2.How is the local job market? Is Augsburg’s proximity to Munich a game-changer? Does Dresden’s "Silicon Saxony" actually have good software/data roles? Is commuting from Trier to Luxembourg for work realistic?
Which city/program should I choose given the current 2026 IT market?
Also, if anyone knows a WhatsApp group of TU Dresden students please share me the link.
Thanks in advance!
