Warning: the police are removing bikes parked next to action

It's happened a few times already, and they come in there and remove all the bikes. Don't park your bike there, because it's going to cost you.

What can we do to mitigate the repeating voice lines problem in games?

As long as we've had voice acting in videogames, in-game voice lines have been played to us repeatedly. It has very often been annoying due to voice lines being too obnoxious, loud, cringe, etc. It's been like 35 years, and even in the highest budget titles this shit still happens.

Examples:
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has NPCs that repeat their voice line every 10 seconds while you're in the vicinity. The voice lines themselves draw a lot of attention to themselves while they're just background chatter. Their volume balancing is too loud, and tied to the camera, so if you walk away you hear them the loudest. One party member starts singing like 1 out of 3 times you get on your mount and you are expected to do so like every minute. The voice line is also louder than others.
- Dragon's Dogma has the most annoying party member one liners, notoriously so, reminding you that WOLVES HUNT IN PACKS ARISEN, and that THEIR KIND HATES ICE AND FIRE BOTH. (a very funny comic was made about this)

PROBLEMS

  • Everyone has a different level of tolerance for repeating noises, cringe, or information. Due to life circumstances, autism, tinnitus, etc.
  • Annoying voice lines are going to exist anyway, especially when translated from japanese.
  • Lowering voice volume for the whole game can make higher quality cutscene voices inaudible.

SOLUTION!

  • I think the best solution would be to make it standard game industry practice to add a "repeating voiceline play chance" slider to the accessibility menu. This is probably the most easy and cost effective way to solve this issue.
  • If you have another realistic solution, please post
  • We all complain about it at the same time

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has lighting issues

https://preview.redd.it/8up3bbletv7h1.png?width=2754&format=png&auto=webp&s=79a52c4a618ffc43c17ad7f2f189fd4ed8bdb5d4

This issue annoyed me so much, that it felt that i wasn't looking at the same characters.
In rebirth, during gameplay, the characters often look like the left most image:

  1. With a jaw shadow that always looks the same no matter the light direction.
  2. The front of the face is so overexposed that you don't see any of the nicely done skin detail anymore.
  3. It makes the faces look very narrow.
  4. Eyes are glowing, which hides details in the iris.

With the scenery mod you can change the skybox temporarily, making things look like the 2nd and 3rd image. Which proves that it's possible to solve the above 4 issues.

However this mod does not provide an always active solution, and affects the lighting in other unwanted ways. For example the hair looks fantastic with the default skybox, but shinyness is decreased in the 2nd and 3rd image.

Blank spot in the hud ... could it mean something?

In rebirth there's a square around the weapon, armor, and weapon upgrade thingamajig.

In the revelation trailer there is no square, and there's kind of space for a fourth line of materia things.

In the 2nd image i've copy pasted the armor materia slots as a 4th line.
It could work, but it makes the hud look a little cramped, so there's probably no 4th line of materia coming. Would be cool though.

Thoughts?

About those fits attacks that were shown

So fits change attacks , as the trailer says.

We see cloud in his warrior outfit, and he does an attack which has some cutscene angles as if it was a limit break, but it actually uses 2 ATB bars.

Same for tifa's black mage outfit. She does a quad magic (4 hits with fire magic) which has camera angles, and it ends with lightning (which could be another character using synergy magic materia, going by it's timing). But again, this uses 2 ATB bars.

- in rebirth, attacks with special camera angles are either synergy abilities, or limit breaks.
- ATB actions in rebirth do not have special camera angles.

So what does this mean?
A) Do ATB attacks have camera angles now?
B) Are there special ATB attacks with camera angles?
C) Are there synergy /limit abilities that also use ATB bars?
D) The hud in the trailers is fake?
E)

The summon materia slots are gone from the equipment menu. What does this mean?

I don't think we can hope for more than 8 materia slots on weapons, since mods for rebirth have increased them to 8 maximum.

But, i think the lack of a summon slot here, and no other summon related things in the equipment menu, means that there will be a separate summon materia menu.

And going by the in-battle summon menu, it seems every character has access to the party's equipped summons.
So i assume summons will be equipped not per character, but party wide

EDIT;
someone commented an image that shows there's 3 summon slots for the whole party.

Where do i go to discuss games with people who are serious, productive and helpful?

I'm in my 30s and I'm not happy with what reddit offers because the culture is so negative.

People are quick to demotivate, tell you your wrong or somehow really try to stop you from being in contact with other people.

Where do i go to talk to likeminded, productive, well intentioned people about games?

EDIT1: Im a dev, and also play games very technically, but also want to respect each person's own interpretation.
Obviously i want to talk about games in a way that is a bit more involved, but without the asocial behavior that this usually comes with

What are the most important things that part3 HAS to get right?

Thread protocol:

  1. Check the comments first to see if your issue is already listed.
  2. 1 issue per main comment. (Keep issue descriptions short.)
  3. Upvote issues you agree with, downvote those you think would do damage to the game.

End result:
A concise list of things they absolutely need to get right.
I send it to square enix.
