Can anyone shed some light on the application review process?

So I know the typical answer to worrying about interviews is “don’t worry until Thanksgiving”. But that’s a blanket response for anyone who submitted whenever. My question is about people who submitted primaries day 1, were verified 1st batch, got 1st batch secondaries, and had a fast submission turn around.

Should we worry about interviews earlier than Thanksgiving? I would hazard to reason if you received and completed a secondary for most schools very early and don’t get an II in their first and second wave of II’s you’re probably not going to get one? Or is that wrong?

Is there some sort of re-review pile? Is there a chance your applications somehow is being seen after people who submitted after you did?

Any sort of insight would be real helpful for this first gen.

EVMS (Old Dominion) Secondary PSA

Hey guys, I just spent 20 minutes figuring out how to submit this secondary, and I finally figured out their error!

EVEN if you are submitting a letter packet/committee letter and you check NO on the "are you submitting individual letters" box, the text boxes below where you would specify WHO those individual writers are REMAIN MANDATORY. So you must still go into each of those boxes (yes, the boxes you specified you have no additional letter writers to add into) and type N/A or something in them; otherwise, the submit & pay button will remain grayed out.

Hope this helps someone!

Secondary glazing

I know every AI is built to just stroke off the user but yeah maybe that actually was the sharpest sentence in the whole essay and it really did deliver a brutal payload idk man did it make sense or not

Final school list review (519/3.75/D1 football)

My Application

ORM (white male), non-disadvantaged

WA resident, OR heritage, ties to NY (undergrad)

3.75cGPA, 3.68sGPA (3.99 last 3 semesters)

519 (130/126/131/132) (F CARS)

Clinical: 1300 hours as a medical assistant in outpatient surgery, LOR from surgeon, MME (2k anticipated)

Volunteering: 430 hours, mostly serving meals at low-barrier shelters, community service w/ my college team, some work with public schools, MME (100 anticipated)

Research: 1000 hours in a biophysics wet lab, 1 poster presentation, LOR from PI

Athletics: 7300 hours, D1, Power 4 college football, 1 team award, MME, LOR from head coach

Other hobbies: weight lifting, might add golf, but probably won't.

Other LORs: biology professor (probably mid), team doctor (roll of the dice)

Narrative: My application is focused on the barriers in medicine that the unhoused face and their health outcomes. I contrast them to the positive outcomes I see at work versus where I volunteer, and discuss how football shaped my understanding of discipline, accountability, integrity, etc.

The current list has no Casper/PREview schools, but I'm open to taking either if there's a slam dunk school that I should add that requires them. Otherwise, that's the list, I really don't want to have to re-app, open to any feedback!!

I hate the committee letter and their ranking of us

The idea that the committee letter is the letter that holds the most weight is so ridiculous imo. The person writing it barely knows me. I’m spoken to her a handful of times. So happy that you will read my application, LORs, and the comments made by the person in your dept. who interviewed me and give me some sort of internal ranking and recommendation tier. Like buddy, isn’t it the adcoms job to do that and decide if they recommend us? Why are you trying to do it on their behalf when once again, you don’t know me at all!

Disclaimer: I have no idea what the committee is going to rank me it could be a 5/5 or a 0/5, either way I still hate them.
