What’s a fair price for a full developer docs revamp (Docusaurus + CI/CD + Maintenance)?
I’m looking to get a ballpark figure on what a freelancer or small agency should charge for a ground-up developer documentation overhaul. Here is the scope of work I’m looking at:
• Content: Full audit and rewrite of existing docs + creating new technical content.
• Design/UI: A fresh, modern "new look" beyond the default Docusaurus theme.
• Development: Implementation on Docusaurus.
• DevOps: Setting up the CI/CD pipeline for automated deployments.
• Long-term: A yearly maintenance contract to keep things updated.
For those who have hired for this or do this work professionally, what are the current market rates? Are people generally charging a flat project fee for the build and a monthly retainer for maintenance, or is hourly still the standard?
