Immature physically violent relationship trying to make a change
So my boyfriend and I have actually over time made an effort to stop being toxic, we use to physically fight and this was my fault legitimately (before him I was with a physically abusive guy and I brought that way of dealing with things to this relationship) we realised we cannot resort to this any more it wasn’t healthy we were both deeply unhappy and had multiple reasons for resenting each other, we have had more conversations then I can count discussing ways to better resolve anger and problems and now don’t do this anymore although I have a short temper and swear a lot and we were out today and he kept saying to me that I can’t walk and talk loudly and saying I got in someone’s way which I didn’t I literally moved to the side so we wouldn’t bump into each other, anyway he kept saying it I kept saying I didn’t and I got so annoyed I just said I’m fucking not cunt your actually annoying me right now btw we’re Australian this sounds odd but here cunt isn’t a hugely bad word it’s quite normalised although I did use it in a angry way, and then he said to me I’ll fucking break your legs but this he chose to say quietly so I said say that louder for everyone around us to hear and he started stuttering and I repeated for him to say it louder and he said no and that he shouldn’t have said it but wasn’t happy I called him a cunt loud enough that the people next to us could hear, this is not the first time he has said this type of thing in a casual argument, I’m livid about it and he has apologised but I put it to him that what if we had a child and you heard them say my dad said he’d break my mums legs like this is just not the progress we have been supposed to have had, mind you I know for a fact he actually wouldn’t do that even when we use to physically argue I was the worse one not him, I wanted to provide this background cause it gives everyone the insight that I historically have also not been innocent but that we both got tired of dealing with things this way and wanted to change for the better, I have stuck to this but him he has not been as easy to change, so yeah anyway I think cause no one’s heard the specific things he’s said he just apologises and goes on with life but doesn’t actually hear that swearing at someone compared to saying your going to break someone’s legs are 2 different things
