How hard is it to clear Hpv 16 when compared to the other strains?

I was diagnosed with HPV 16 almost 2 months back! I’m 31 female, was dating someone at the time and randomly got my Pap smear only to get the news about this high risk Hpv! Pap came back AScus, colpo was normal as per my obgyn, but she still took biopsy just to be sure! I’m still waiting on my results, meanwhile I have been taking supplements and trying to be active and eating healthy as much as possible. I take ahcc, b12, iron, women’s probiotics, vitamin D and EGCG. I took it for one month before I had my colpo and the obgyn told me my cervix looks normal. I think supplements might have helped me a little bit. But the more I google the more I see Hpv 16 is very difficult to clear. How hard is it as compared to other strains? I really want honest answers! I’m also celibating at the moment as I wanna clear this first before I get into a relationship.

Hpv and dating? Do you really tell your partner about asymptomatic HPV?

31(F), I did post about this earlier but I’m feeling extremely anxious. I’m Indian, living in Canada, I was diagnosed with high risk HPV on my last pap with ASCUS cells.

Had a colposcopy yesterday and the doctor said everything looks normal but she still did a biopsy to be 100% sure.

I have a few questions until I wait for my results:

  1. How do you navigate dating? I’m single currently and I was hoping to clear this virus before even starting to date again.

  2. If you wanna date and really like someone, do you really tell your potential partner about this diagnosis. Also, I don’t have the type that cause GW. So no symptoms at all.

  3. If you successfully clear the virus, and then start dating, do you still inform your partner about your previous positive result?

  4. I feel like it’s a very heavy burden on women specially to deal with shame, guilt and disclosure. Like men would never be able to get test and held accountable and they are the ones to judge and stigmatise this quickly. What do you do in a situation like that?

  5. I being an Indian, the social stigma is too much, I have had my full panel sti testing after my last relationship and I was negative for everything. Is this really treated like an sti because my obgyn told me that this is more a cancer screening tool?

  6. It’s prevalent and doesn’t need multiple partners to spread this, I do understand that, but I see some posts where people still make judgements if you do not disclose it your partner without knowing the burden a women has, the anxiety that comes with diagnosis. A lot of people will never have a Pap smear and will never get tested for this. I feel like I shouldn’t have known this, coz it has given me so much anxiety in the past one month that I haven’t been sleeping well. Why do people still judge ?

  7. It doesn’t work like other stis, specially an asymptomatic type doesn’t even have a treatment. What’s the point in telling your partner? For vaccination? People who aren’t vaccinated and are over 30, vaccination is not covered in Canada, why will even someone get vaccination for a new partner and pay out of pocket for it when they did not have to their whole life?

  8. The whole information is so confusing and misleading, you cant do anything about something that you have! But you need to know you have it. I understand in some percentage of people it can develop into a cancer, but why even use the word HPV, rather than cervical screening, why tell patients when they are actually treating for cervical cancer. If it was that crazy, it should have been mandated by the government but in turn it’s optional to do a Pap smear?

It will be amazing to get some advice on dating with Hpv!

Also, If there are Indian people living in Canada, facing the same situation, I would appreciate your advice on this.

People taking AHCC for Hpv 16, how long did it take for you to clear the virus?

Hi everyone,

31 (F), I was diagnosed with Hpv 16 a month ago! Since my diagnosis I have already completed a one month course of the following supplements:

  1. AHCC by kinoko platinum (3g daily empty stomach in the morning)
  2. Metagenics Phytomul

ti (this multivitamin has 400 mcg methylated folate in it)

  1. B12 (I’m deficient)
  2. Iron (I’m deficient)
  3. EGCG
  4. Vitamin D3+k2
  5. Women’s probiotics for vulgar and vaginal health.

I have added kale and lettuce to my diet, I blend it in my morning shake with other fruits, I mostly eat home cooked meal, no junk eating, no sugar, and I also do cardio for an hour (mostly walking and cross-trainer).

I need some motivation that I can clear this virus within few months to a year! I’m worried every single day, so much so that my sleep has been the worst for the past few days, also I have overactive bladder so that’s also a big problem.

Also my pap was ASCUS, and I have a colposcopy tomorrow, just wanna know how is that procedure, is it too painful? I hope though I do not have anything serious. :(

South Asians with high risk HPV

Hi guys, I’m wondering if there are any South AsIan Indian people here living with high risk HPV? I would like to talk, get some support, I’m really spiralling since I found out a positive test. Will I ever be able to date like a normal person again? Once I clear the virus, should I tell my future partner about a past positive test? Will I ever find someone who would accept me knowing about it? I’m really scared, freaking out, crying everyday. I don’t know how I even got this in the first place! I was always so careful. Currently I have zero emotional support coz I had a breakup recently. No one to talk to and I’m just dwelling in my thoughts!

How long did it take for you to clear HPV 16+?

Hi everyone,

I'm 31 and just had my first Pap smear. Unfortunately, my results came back as HPV 16 positive with ASC-US, and I'm honestly feeling really scared.

I've been reading a lot online, and seeing that HPV 16 can sometimes persist for years has made my anxiety even worse. I recently went through a breakup and have decided to take a break from dating, but I do hope to settle down in the future. Because of that, I'm really hoping to clear this virus as soon as possible.

My doctor was very casual and said it's common, that almost everyone is exposed to HPV at some point, and that it often clears on its own. While that did help a little, I'm still anxious, especially since I'm waiting for my colposcopy appointment.

In the meantime, I've started taking AHCC, EGCG, a multivitamin, vitamin B12, and iron. I know there's no guaranteed way to clear HPV faster, but it makes me feel like I'm doing something while I wait.

For those who have had HPV 16, how long did it take for your body to clear it? Did anyone test negative after a year or two? I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences while I wait for my next steps.

Thank you ❤️
