We've had these two Gibbaeum species for a couple months. It's the start of autumn here so I gave them a few tablespoons of water a few weeks ago as I figured they were coming out of dormancy.

Since then a few sections of the plant have yellowed, shrivelled and died. Initially it seemed to just be a few bits, so I immediately stopped watering. They've had no water since but I recently noticed that more sections of the plants are dying off. Is this full blown rot?

What do I do? Get them out the soil and try treat the rot and repot?

The plants have been kept outside and receive bright light with late afternoon sun. We live near the sea so I'm concerned there is more moisture in the air than they are used to in the desert - not sure what I could do about that? There is good air ventilation. I've just moved both to a spot where they will receive more sunlight.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
