Heating circulation pump using less power after replacing a check valve

Hi guys, just looking for advice, we have an old house in Ireland with a gravity fed system ( 2 tanks in the attic, hot water cylinder with an oil boiler and an unused solid fuel range).

I replaced the check valve on the discharge of the oil boiler because it was leaking and since then the circulating pump on the boiler feed is using less power (20 watts down from 46) and I can hear rushing water through the pipes that I couldn’t before.

There’s an air eliminating valve fitted on the feed from the boiler into the hot water heating coil which I think is working, I’ve bled the heat sink radiator and I’ve bled the pump. Just wondering if I’ve missed anything

Thanks!
