Birth control with Topamax
I just recently for the past month upped my topomax to 75mg daily for migraine prevention after being on 50mg for 2 months and I usually take it at night along with my Slynd birth control. I’ve been on slynd for a year and a half but this month I’m having spotting mid cycle which I never have and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this with this dosing. I’ve read in the group and online that it sounds like only higher doses of topomax can affect birth control. I’m just hoping this isn’t affecting my birth control I decided to start taking the topomax in the morning and keep taking the birth control at night and see if that makes any difference. Maybe my body didn’t like all that medication absorption at once. I will double check with the pharmacist when I go in next week to pickup a refill but was curious if anyone’s experienced similar or heard different.
