Hi all,
I am a husband and father of 2 boys (5 & 3). Currently working full time, been at the same company for 9yrs. We recently had a few big home repairs had to replace our A/C and heat pump as well as do some water proofing in our basement due to water leaks. We took out a home equity loan to cover these big expenses. My wife used to work, but was diagnosed with leukemia 2 yrs ago. She went through chemo treatment and had a bone marrow transplant as well. She was on disability which helped a ton with medical & travel expenses, not to mention all of the little things that add up while she was incapacitated during the treatments. Unfortunately, disability stopped at the beginning of this year and we don’t have any money left from the loan. So we are in a really tight spot financially. My wife struggles with serious mental health / anxiety issues from the trauma of the diagnosis and treatment. She was also pregnant with our second son when she was diagnosed , so it was a very scary and traumatic time. Having said that, she cannot work at this time. Just wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can make some more money or if it unwise to look at a new loan, or if it is even possible. Thank you for your thoughts!
