Flares when laying?
So im currently being investigated for POTS by my cardiologist; we’re both pretty sure it’s POTS as is my GP and the doctor who referred me from ED.
Ive started doing testing to rule out other illnesses before we get to doing the tilt test and yesterday I was tested for addisons disease; I had 7 vials of blood taken overall and a shot of cortisol. It did make me feel pretty terrible because they initially couldnt get the vein right and then I had that much blood taken but I was relatively okay walking.
When I got home I ended up being in so much pain, I couldn’t move at all - I figured it was just my hypermobility acting up again and causing me pain (which that is probably what it was) so I was stuck in bed.
A couple hours after whilst I was in bed my heartrate climbed from 65 up to around 160 in a matter of seconds; i shouted my mum and she held my legs up for me whilst I tried to calm my breathing and all that but I’m sure as you all know it feels like a heart attack. I suppose my question is, do you guys get it from laying? Im only ever this bad when im led down and this has happened a few times; sure I get tachycardic and faint when im stood more than often but as soon as I lay down it calms very quickly. Is this an adrenaline dump? Dehydration?
