Need sage wisdom on teen car purchase
Hi
Need help thinking this through. We want to buy a car for our 16 year old. We could buy him a ~8k used car or we could shuffle cars and give him our older son’s 7k car and give older son our 12k car. If we shuffle cars then we may purchase a used truck for ~13k that my husband would love to have. We can pay cash. Financially just buying him a cheap used car seems better, but if we shuffle cars, this gives older son a better car (I guess we would lose ~4k or we are gifting our son 4k) I don’t know! After writing this out, it seems you all may say just buy younger child cheap car (just worried about problems with car which we have had in past buying cheap cars). Thanks in advance
