sleeve decreases - making long sleeves instead of the original short sleeves
Hi!
I’m knitting the Anais Tee by Gregoria Fibers and decided to make long sleeves instead of the original short sleeves. Since the pattern doesn’t include sleeve shaping, I kept the sleeves straight with no decreases and planned to just switch from 4.5 mm to 3 mm needles for the cuff. But the cuff still ended up too wide, even after decreasing stitches before the ribbing.
My sleeve currently has 82 sts, and I’m wondering if I should decrease much more aggressively (maybe down to 56–60 sts) right before the cuff. I don’t want a very tapered sleeve - I’m aiming for a relaxed sleeve with a softly gathered cuff, kind of like a sweatshirt shape. Would a big decrease in one round look too dramatic? Or do you think I should have been decreasing gradually along the sleeve instead? I need some help!
