In some cases, victims allege that personal information has been shared without consent, belongings have been stolen, and efforts have been made to involve others in behaviours that cause further harm.

A key concern involves vulnerable young women being drawn into NDIS-funded arrangements through personal ABNs, including situations involving sex work or sexually exploitative expectations. Many are already facing hardship such as domestic violence, poverty, homelessness, or addiction, which increases their risk of coercion and exploitation. Without proper safeguards and oversight, the impact can be severe and long-lasting, affecting their safety, wellbeing, and future.
