Changing to a new doctor and a questionable situation.

My existing doctor retired and I got a new one. My blood work came back on the sketchy side and the new doctor said I need to go onto a certain drug, I said no, then pointed to my blood work trending over the years to show how I know how to improve the numbers through diet and lifestyle without the drugs ..because I did it before ..as seen in the trending and its that I've just fallen back into old bad habbits.

As soon as I said no to the drug, she refused to answer any of my questions about the rest of the blood work and pretty much ushered me out of her office nine minutes into a twenty minute appointment.

Genuine question:
Is this behaviour common? Have I been too long with a great doctor so I didn't know how shitty others can be?

Visiting on a Budget - Tips

Hi all.

I'm visiting Adelaide for the first time in June for a week. Got an amazing deal on a CBD hotel, but recent events have meant my budget is a lot less than I had hoped.

So what are your best free/cheap tips for things to do. I'm easily amused and love to walk. What's the best cinema? Best park? Best cheap eats?

I have no rental car but would love to hear from knowledgeable folks. Cheers!

Why are only single buses and trains being provided at busy peak times?

Back when I sometimes had to catch the OBahn and the train to get to the City on weekdays, it used to really make me wonder why The Hon. Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport (I didn’t just google that name at all….) would allow Adelaideans to suffer in crammed dangerous conditions.

Why are only single buses and trains being provided at peak times? If there’s double buses and long carriage trains, why not use them? It’s so dangerous and like a tin of sardines. They increase the prices of the tickets, so why not provide safer conditions to warrant the increase?

Free to play, no pay to win, Australia is under threat, we need you mate!

Hey friends, I’m looking for fellow people to join us in War Era to help Australia and reestablish our dominance in the game. (dont need to be Australian)

https://app.warera.io/ (just select Australia when you register)

The game has real countries, real borders, and a real player driven economy. The geopolitics is heating up right now with betrayals and alliances. We need more active Australian citizens to vote in elections, hold government positions, and fight in the frontlines so we can dominate the server.

Multiple tiers of military equipment, weapons, food, and enhancement pills (buffs) determine the outcome of battles. The battles happen in real-time and you have to coordinate strikes with other players.

We have our own government with around 40 employees. You can run for the presidency, vote, manage taxes as the government, and negotiate alliances (or declare wars, hard shit) with other real countries.

And ofc the global chat and discord politics are wild and hard. Alliances are made and broken constantly, however Australia is known for being a good mate. (So don't forget to join our Discord.)

It takes about 10–20 minutes to fight, work and manage your factories. (Yes, we've factories and locations for them all over the world as well as random resources.) You only need to check in every 9–10 hours to stay efficient. (Ofc if you get addicted to the chat and political drama, the DramaEra, you might stay longer.)

The best part about the game isn't the game itself but the community around it. The Aussie community is friendly, inviting and helpful. Aussie or not, you'll be welcome, just join Australia when you join.

Apart from the web, it also has an app on play store if you want that.

Free to play, no pay to win!

If you have any doubts, feel free to ask.

The manager at my work wanted to fire a worker because he was swearing. The workers was having friendly banter with his mate, in the lunchroom, when he already finished work.

He was having a friendly banter between his mate saying f**k you and c**t. Last I checked this is the most Aussie thing to say. Obviously he can’t fire someone because of this.

Has anyone experienced something like this? Or what other crazy rules have your workplace put in place?

Charles sturt council fines food delivery

Can you believe this heartless council fines a van delivering food for stopping in a narrow street with no parking while delivering food to a needy family. Stopped for a minute. 100% heartless a-holes.

Electric kettle for limestone water

Hi everyone 👋
We live in Mount Gambier and the water here is quite hard because of limestone. We use an electric kettle every day and are thinking about buying a new one.
Which type would you recommend for long-term daily use with hard water?
- stainless steel
- glass
- plastic
Also, which brands have worked well for you in South Australia?🇦🇺
Thanks 🙂

7 days Perth & Margaret River?

I’m think about hitting WA in early November. Thinking 3 full days in Perth and then driving down to Margaret River.

I’m traveling solo and have never been to this part of Australia. All I want to do is relax, drink local craft beer and wine, and enjoy some low-key nightlife by the ocean.

I’m looking for some recommendations where I should plant myself in the Margaret River area.

Would appreciate any suggestions. If you have any thoughts on alternatives to Margaret River. I would love to hear them.
