No luck with providers, has anyone become an electrologist?

I live in the Upstate of SC and had my neck lasered to stop ingrown hairs, but waited until I was too old and about 20% of my hair is thick and white. Now I have to tweeze about 5 hairs a day, leaving my skin raised, irritated, and ingrown. I've repeatedly (over time) called every electrolysis place Google can find between Greenville and Asheville and as far east as Gastonia and nobody will answer or return calls. I've suspected they might be afraid I'm trans, so I have said I just need work done on my neck area. My friend in Western NC can't find a provider either. One lady finally called back from the Greenville area to say she's swamped with clients and facial hair is too difficult for her to deal with. If electrolysis were a one-time thing I wouldn't mind driving to Atlanta or Charlotte, but I work 2 jobs and can't dissappear far away on a regular basis. This shows me there's an apparent huge need for this kind of service in our area. SC is an unregulated state, and I'm wondering if anyone has run into not being able to find a provider and ended up making a career out of it.
