Taking an Asm role
I interviewed for a CEM position and I have a strong feeling I will get it. I am currently a Key Carrier/CEC. I need to buy a car but unfortunately my credit isn't great and I don't have the savings to buy one outright. It would require a commute and the area I live in doesn't have the best public transportation. I would have to ask my parents ( who have no idea about my finances/credit) for support. How could I approach this with my DM when asked? I know that nobody can make the decision for me but I need advice. I spoke with my store manager about this and she was very supportive. My DM doesn't let anyone promote to ASM in their home store but the Managers at my store want me there. I am considering turning down the role to preserve harmony in my family even though I am very capable of the role imho. I am torn on what to do.
