Summer is confirmed! So what’s the score on Saylor?

With Shay Rudolph locked in as Summer, we can finally cross her off our list! But that brings us right back to those first leaks outside Malone's. Sorry if this has been discussed, but now that Summer is confirmed, we need to revisit. Who do you think Saylor McPherson is playing?

While she could be playing Penelope, my feeling is she’ll be playing a character with a much bigger recurring presence in the show - I'd love it to be Ramona. If it's her, it sets up a multi season jealousy arc. In S2, we'd see her driving herself crazy with envy that Allie locked down the star hockey player she’s been chasing. Based on those leaked photos, the scene outside Malone's could easily be her trying to slide into Dean's orbit and making Allie jealous in the process. Then in S3, that toxic energy would transition into her being Grace's nightmare roommate and targeting Logan...

Who is your top theory for her role now that Summer is officially out of the equation?

The Tomato Soup Massacre: Girls vs Boys 🍅

With S2 featuring more of an ensemble focus, I’ve been speculating about how the writers might weave the overlapping book timelines together. What if they combine some of these moments into one massive, chaotic hockey house scene? I’m talking about Hannah, Allie, Summer, and Grace having a horror movie night that triggers a full blown team ambush!

Grace heightens everyone’s paranoia during the movie with her true crime rants about Ted Bundy. By the time it ends the girls are completely spooked in a pitch black kitchen. Right on cue, the boys walk in after practice. Total stranger danger chaos sets in. Allie blindly throws her tomato soup straight into the dark splattering it across all the boys before instantly clocking Dean with the Wayne Gretzky paperweight! Hannah grabs a hockey stick to defend the perimeter, while Summer pelts the shadows with leftover popcorn.

When Tucker finally hits the light switch he reveals absolute destruction. Seeing the boys covered in red soup and popcorn while Allie and Hannah stand weapon ready would be hilarious!

How do you think the show will handle the soup scene? Are there any other overlapping book moments you think the writers will combine to build up the new ensemble format? (Honestly, if none of this happens, I’m happy to settle for the entire cast just performing Thriller together instead) 😂

Solange S1! What’s the Juice on S2? Decoding Allie’s List

I loved the casual moments of Dean and Allie watching Solange in the book because they show Dean's attentive side and highlights how comfortable and domestic their dynamic feels. Do you think Solange will appear in S2, or are the showrunners pushing this to S3?

When discussing her goals, Allie wants to start a juice cleanse, learn to salsa, and learn French. It has me wondering how they will adapt these:

The Juice Cleanse: An easy win would be to have Dean seek help from Tucker to create the juices then personally deliver them to her.

The Salsa Lessons: Will they stay true to the book, or did the iconic JLo dance scene replace this entirely? Mika has a real life ballroom background so she would absolutely crush another dance sequence!

The French Link: Hopefully they keep this alive in S3/4 so Dean can surprise her with a trip to Paris so she can fully immerse herself in the language also giving him the perfect chance to collect the custom Allie perfume he commissioned the atelier to replicate.

Do you have any fun theories on how they can adapt these book moments? Do share!

Could Dean's chain be the missing link in their Season 2 story?

Does anyone know the true origin or significance of the chains the hockey boys wear? They are so prominent on screen, there has to be a deeper symbolic meaning behind them? I have a theory on how the writers could use Dean's chain to absolutely break our hearts in Season 2.

During the intense and emotionally charged "Call Dean" scene, a protective Dean gives his personal chain to Allie. He places it around her neck as a token of safety and comfort, a physical promise that even when he can't physically be standing beside her, she has a piece of him for extra strength whenever she steps onto the stage-it becomes her ultimate comfort anchor.

But then when tragedy hits, Dean hits rock bottom and everything spirals. During their devastating breakup scene when a completely drained Allie finally looks at him and says, "I'm done" she slowly unclasps the chain. Through tears she places the chain back in his hands, telling him that he needs the strength more than she does. Walking away and leaving that chain behind would be a painful reminder of their love story, forcing Dean to face his grief so he can finally win her back.

It would perfectly link their story full circle. What do you think? Do you think the writers are planning this level of detail for next season?

Thanksgiving Chocolate Turkey

I know we were all distracted by Allie and Dean’s insane chemistry during the penthouse chess scene, but look closer at the coffee table! Next to the two empty wine glasses, you can see a colourful wrapper. Is that the chocolate turkey Allie gave him? If so, my heart is melting. It means they actually sat down, drank wine, and shared it. Since that chocolate turkey is a special tradition from her dad, sharing it with Dean is a huge deal. It’s a quiet physical marker of their shift from a casual hookup to a real meaningful relationship. Who else caught this? or any others?
