Advice, ideas, and wisdom requested.. Liftmaster 8500
One day my unit just stops working.. Motor box gets power, wall controller does not.. read online about common splicing connection issue .. rewired with 18/2 wire end to end to eliminate the splice problem. Upgraded wall controller to the fancy-ish screened WiFi model. Checked connections (multiple times) plugged in and powers on.. displays temp and time lit screen, tried the three button press sync attempt per instructions, no effect.. Then off.. no power.. unplugged and tried again.. powers returns then after five seconds off.. Sometimes on for a few mins, sometimes a couple seconds.. Motherboard swap? Noticed three flashes on box which led to the rabbit hole.. Unit came with house, never had an issue till recently. A reported random open twice. It opened and was found with no power to the controller, emergency pulled to close door till I could read up and educate myself (worth a try). I know I don’t know, so I ask.. I’m positive the mighty Reddit wisdom bank will come through as usual.. Thank you in advance..
