Marginalisation of Muslim/immigrant/south-Asian men

New account cause I'm a lurker. I was searching the sub to see if there was any posts for issues faced by Muslim/immigrant guys (hence the title), but to my dismay, its more like we're the scapegoat for blanket statements that criticise men. Frankly seems to go against the whole nature of the sub, cause those statements are already really normalised against brown guys specifically.

Just seems like online it's very acceptable to make blanket statements against immigrant or Muslim men, especially south-Asians (Indian, Pakistani, Bangaldeshi) guys. Someone from this category commits a crime and people are pretty quick to bring out racist rhetoric, "eradicate Islam" etc type stuff. And that's okay because brown men are gross, abusive, rapists, etc; or that we're apparently tolerative of this behaviour.

I have to "justify" that I'm a brown immigrant Muslim. I've been living in my country for more than 18 years. The closest encounter I had with the law was a warning for running a stop sign. I'm not some dangerous criminal, I'm not a leech, I'm not a walking danger to women and society. And neither are all the other guys in my community (and I know a lot).

I'm not oblivious to bad things being done by people labelling themselves as Muslim. I know people can hold criticisms of my faith (I'm not interested in debating anyone). It doesn't mean by default, all Muslim men must have ill intentions, yet it seems to be acceptable to claim so. Frankly it's insensitive and dehumanising, given how many Muslim men/boys have been subject to mass executions and torture (e.g. in Gaza, the Rohyingya, etc).

Criticisms can be made of the beliefs/texts of literally ANY religion (including atheism/anti-theism). Extremist groups and individuals arise from all belief systems, today and throughout history. Doesn't mean they get conflated with the mainstream followers.

Its weird how people feel very comfortable bashing brown guys online. Like it's acceptable in forums and comments sections to say that we're abusive, bad people, we get this behaviour from our fathers, tec. I genuinely reckon it comes from closeted racists who can use the cause of feminism to get a pass on hating a minority group.

brown/Muslim/immigrant guys are individuals too, and should be judged as such. Nobody really calls out how its become ok to marginalise us. We're not morally inferior to everyone else.

anyway just a rant from a disgruntled brown guy, take it with a pinch of salt
