any endgame build without DLC?

I'm new to the Diablo series thanks to the Humble Bundle offer, and I've been playing quite a bit lately, but I think it's pretty clear I don't know how to build characters because I haven't played much. However, I've already reached Torment I in Necromancer (it's the only class I've tried, along with a bit of Rogue) and it's relatively "easy" (doing dmg but getting one-shotted) for me up to Torment III, but no further. The thing is, with so much information out there, I often feel like I haven't optimized things. Im playing for the moment without DLCs (no money xd) and I was playing almost blind without following any specific builds sl I try to prioritize intelligence and shadow damage, but talking about Paragorn points and glyphs gives me a bit of a headache because I don't really understand them rn; I feel like I'm missing half the picture or more. I've also tried testing my builds by checking damage and defense, but there are so many numbers on the screen that I get completely lost. Maybe it's just a bad class for that, lol. I think it would be fun to really understand an optimized endgame build to be sure, because the best armor and weapons, glyphs, and how to optimize Paragorn are all a bit of a mystery to me. Is what I'm saying "reasonable"? If so, do you have any "meta" builds you could send me?
