Is Injection Molding an example of an endothermic reaction?
Hello,
I am new to the field and recieving training. There's a lot of theory that comes with it, including where I have to explain parts of the process.
Now the question arised on whether or not injection molding is an example of an endothermic reaction. My argument was that it is due to the chemical reaction happening where resin and additives form bonds and become a homogenous mixture in the barrel. This reaction needs heat to take place, which it draws from the environment.
My instructor essentially told me to think about it a little more. Though it won't be until Friday where I can discuss this in person with him. I was wondering if anybody here could chime in with their opinion?
