Trying to Find Bluegrass/Folk/Country Song
In the summer of 2018-2019 I was in the car with my dad and on the SiriusXM bluegrass station we heard this song. It sounded less like traditional bluegrass and more like a folk or country ballad. The singer was male, not very old but not very young either, and he had a lower voice but not one that was particularly deep or gravelly though. The song was sad, I think it was a break-up song, and you could feel a sense of yearning and introspectiveness throughout it. It also sounded like it was an older song and was recorded a while ago, if I had to guess I would say in the 50s or 60s. I don't know anything else about it, but I remember the last line was something like, "I didn't take the clothing off the line, I didn't leave the suitcase by the door". I think the point of the song was that his lover thought he wanted to leave, and he was saying he didn't want to leave by saying he never brought his clothes in from the line and packed them in his suitcase, then but the luggage in the hall to prepare to leave. But honestly, I'm not 100% sure that was the theme of the song. He could have literally meant that he was not the one to do those things. I am not certain of the exact lyric or imagery, but he definitely mentioned a clothes line and suitcase, and he was saying in someway that he didn't bring the clothes in and didn't leave the suitcase. Please let me know what y'all know because I've looked everywhere and can't find anything. Thank you!
