Please respect our beautiful town! ❤️

I hope everyone has had a fantastic and safe 4th of July! I met so many lovely vacationers this weekend, however, I've seen more disrespectful people here this summer than ever before. There's a strange narrative on social media that it's okay to trash up and run rampant in our beach towns because "it's always been that way." I've lived and worked here for my entire life so I am no stranger to it all. But please respect our businesses, beaches and boardwalks!

Ocean City is home to so many wonderful locals who love to share our home with people visiting from all over. So to have outrageous amounts of trash left blowing onto our beaches and into the ocean (as I saw early this morning) is not cool. Harassing hardworking employees who only want to make sure you're enjoying yourself is also not cool. I have had so many long-time coworkers quit because of the unsafe atmosphere downtown this year in particular.

In all of my years of barcrawling and partying in OC, my friends and I have never once felt the need to litter, terrorize families or cause any incident with the police. Just because it happens doesn't mean it should ever transpire into becoming the new normal. I love our freedoms here and none of us want to see curfews and alcohol restrictions have to be permanently implemented.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who visits and treats Ocean City with the respect she deserves. Come back soon!!
