Advice for CT Scan

https://imgur.com/a/Tlj9Q2O

My dog, 4.5 years old, is a border collie who was seen by the vet today for a cough that has been ongoing for the past week.

It is dry in nature and is episodic. He seems to get tired a little more easily, but eating and playing fine. He was given abx and a cough suppressant, but the x-ray showed a pulmonary nodule on his right upper lobe of his lung.

The vet recommended a CT scan but I am hesitant as it is pricy. Do the scans suggest a malignancy and warrant a CT? It was only visible on 1 view.

He had a similar episode a year ago and went to the ER vet but they concluded it was bronchitis and resolved but is back now with similar symptoms.

He will occasionally wake up wheezing and has some episodic exertional wheezing as well. At rest, he wheezes occasionally and has a terminal retch following his hacking cough.

The attached picture are his x-rays along with the occasional mucus he coughs up.
