Squeaky Subfloor

About to install some new carpet in a bedroom — right in the doorway subfloor squeaky sounding like loose nails not actual floor joist issues (1968 build). Having trouble even with a stud finder on deeper depth to locate accurately the joist line. Even from above looking at the original nail pattern and trying to line it out — there are ones in a line however stud finder seems to not fully agree (though I’m not trusting it anyway) and there are also sporadic nails not quite in a line confusing me to trust the ones that are. Far right you can see where two subfloor boards meet, I would presume that has to you a joist there right? Joist should be 16 inches off center from what I can see in a basement drop ceiling light. Any tips? I just don’t want to accidentally try to screw down and hit an electrical line/hvac or something lol
