Looping between my heart and my mind,

Like an old cassette set to rewind.

Aching to go back to the start,

Or take the memories and pull them apart.

I wonder if it even looks the same from your perspective?

Did your moments feel like mine did?

Were we ever together at the same table?

Or were you somewhere else while I lived our fable?

I cry about a moment I think caused you pain,

Though you caused me so much more,

No love without forgiveness… I loved in vain.

I guess that’s the reason for these endless loops,

My mind looking to repair the threads you cut loose.
