My Fitbit Air over counts steps and calories like crazy
Like the title says.
I have been wearing it for 5 days now and the numbers don't make sense. I do office work and have used trackers for the past couple of years (mostly Garmin and Galaxy watches) so I think I have a well defined baseline and I know my averages very well.
For example, when comparing the data my previous trackers show I usually take 6,000 to 8,000 steps in a slow day during work hours. Also my calories burned were always between 600 to 800.
Now, my Google Health app constantly says I walked 3,000 to 4,000 steps before lunch and burned 1,300 to 1,500 calories. I tried everything mentioned on this subreddit and every recommendation found on the Google forums but my results are consistently inconsistent with my previous base line.
All over the Internet I see similar results but no real solution in sight.
Any idea what could really be happening? Any tips on how to remedy it? Is searching for a fix a lost cause?
