Help Understanding Waivers

I’m super confused on the waiver process, and my recruiter hasn’t been able to answer a lot of my questions.

I was initially rejected from joining because of some condition that was mentioned in my medical history. Barrett’s Esophagus. When I went to MEPS and the Dr asked me about it. I told him that’s the first time I’d heard of that condition. He pulled up the forms that were referenced by the initial Dr who looked at my chart before I got there, and it said that during an endoscopy (for a surgery I didn’t end up having) I had 3 years ago. In the paperwork the provider stated that they’re “checking for Barrett’s esophagus” not that I had it or had ever been seen for it.

So the MEPS dr noted in the system that I don’t have it and coded is as non disqualifying (or whatever their code for that is)

Then week later my recruiter says my waiver was denied because of the esophagus. To appeal it, I write a personal statement. Again, I said again I didn’t have it.

Waiver got denied again. My recruiter said I can appeal it but would need medical documentation supporting that I never had it.

Can someone help me understand why I keep getting rejected for something I don’t have? Especially when there’s paperwork and doctors already saying I don’t have this condition.

Thanks for y’all’s time.
