Worth exploring a diagnosis if I can just about focus on work naturally when deadlines loom?

TLDR: I can focus on work that I have always enjoyed, does this mean I almost certainly do not have ADHD and it isn't worth seeing somebody about it?

I (M20) am exploring the idea of an ADHD diagnosis but UK based it is costly either timely or financially, although it's a repeated thought I have always put it off because I seem to be okay with my work but I started thinking more into it recently and realised pretty much nothing else in my life is organised, and this has been a repeated pattern throughout my life

I have always had a heavy interest in IT/Computers which evolved into Software Development, which is mentioned throughout school reports starting from age 8 until the last one, always pointing out how I am very able in other subjects if only I would focus on them. Almost every single one from my childhood years mentions some form of fidgeting, talking, looking like I'm asleep or otherwise distracted and need to pay more attention. I have underperformed what was predicted in school/etc my entire life.

I managed to make a decent "career" out of it, I left school immediately as soon as was legally possible and started to take on freelance jobs which evolved into some month long contracts, but nothing has ever lasted more than a few months, and I have always had a hard time finishing the final few details to the extent that others have been brought it to finish for me multiple times which has made it very hard for me to maintain relationships with people who were highly impressed with my skills only weeks before.

I'm starting to look at my friends who are moving on with other aspects of their lives, when I was meant to have a good start a few years ago, I am majorly behind on my taxes and my finances are in disarray, access to credit turned out to be a pretty big disaster for me, I feel paralysed for some very simple life tasks, i.e letting small stuff like phone bills go into collections when I swore I would sort it out soon
