I was bored and decided that I am going to portray myself in COTE as high schooler. I was using character AI's one but it's really not that good, so I am going to do it myself using dice and a few conventional methods. This will follow the same plotline. All characters will be in. Honestly, I don't know if I want to follow the Light Novel or Manga. If this does well then let me know what scenarios you want emphasized or what you want to see and I'll cater to that! I want you guys to add to the story, stuff like my name! But if you're looking for some edgy emo thing, I'm not that good of a writer 😭 Enjoy!

The Dark Side of Paradise

In just a few short weeks, this new stage of life has become second nature. Wake up, walk to class, and chill. I also work as a club aide, which is exactly how it's spelled. Afterschool, I head to the student council room and view the tasks on the club board, if any. If there's any help needed, I head over and assist. I've been pretty lax with it though, some tasks, like being a practice jockey for the Basketball Team, I just ignore and leave to some other poor fellow. Getting slammed by Sudo once was enough. He's found his peace with basketball, and it's not just him. Nearly everyone has adjusted and made a club or certain activity their home.

A rather loud throat clearing interrupts my thoughts. Chabashira announces a mock exam. This is my first time hearing about it.....

The exam isn't too bad, it's mostly like the entrance exam. I did well on that, and I think I did well on this one. I glanced around a couple times, and a few people were struggling.

After the exam, I decide to spend lunchtime as a club aide. I see a request from the librarian on the club board, so I go to the Library Club. The librarian leads me to a cart full of books and hands me a paper explaining the Dewey Decimal System. She asks me to sort the books accordingly.....

"Well, better get started"

I start shelving the books. Most of them academic, but a few less serious books. Makes sense, you wouldn't really come here for fun..

As I go to put away a mystery novel, I see a girl struggling to reach a novel. I watch her struggle for a bit, then I walk over and grab it.

"Thanks....What class are you in?"
"Class D"

*I hand it to her*

"Thank you"
She reminds me of Emilia from Re-Zero.

"Well, Nice to meet you"
*We further exchange pleasantries.

New Character Profile

Hiyori Shiina: Kawaii Emilia-Chan. Quiet personality.

She seems so serene that I find myself wanting to stay and talk, but I've got work to do. I impart a "later, gator" in the middle of her rambling about novels and continue on my way.*

*After a bit more shelving, the bell rings. Lunch passed by fast. The librarian thanks me, and I promise to come back tomorrow*

Class is normal, or, in the logical sense, abnormal as usual*.* Our teachers come in and ramble without fail. Discipline/Structure has no place within our class walls. There's no reprimanding, and so plenty just don't care. Skipping, Sleeping, Talking, Phone Usage. It leaves a bad feeling. For such an esteemed school, why would they allow this? A few hesitate to commit any wrongdoings.

The Truth

The next morning, I come into class, stopping to grab a snack bar from a vending machine, and every seat is filled. Strange. I expected more absences.

Everyone's glued to their phones. Today was the day we were all supposed to receive another 100K points. It's pretty exciting. I still had about half of last month's, but with another batch I'd be able to play games more frequently.

As I sit down next to Ayanokoji, I hear him muttering to Horikita about not getting any points. I glance and, he still has 80,000 left. And here I thought I was a conservationist. Anyways, the lack of points is a bigger issue, as many students are starting to grow agitated.

Then, Chabashira walks in with a smug sort of look. Instantly, students ask about points this and points that. Chabashira reveals that every last point has already been given, with the revelation that we all were to be given 0. Citing our classes poor behavior and general shittiness, she makes it clear we know our worthlessness. Then, with an even smugger look, if that's even possible, she takes out our mock exam test scores.

Straight garbage. Plenty of D's and F's. I got a C, which I personally feel is normal, but whatevs. Then she lets us know that were this a real test, seven would've failed, and that failing midterms or finals = expulsion. Well that's a new discovery. At my middle school, they'd simply just keep you during the summer, but then again, this is the one and only ANHS.....

By this point, plenty of students are stuck in suspended horror, but Chabashira keeps coming. the hierarchal system of the Classes, with us being in the lowest, and Class A being the favorable class who are the only ones to receive the 100% post-grad opportunity/employment.

Class A,huh?....Is this a ploy to make us hate those who already are in class A? Because it sure looks like it. But my thoughts hold no power in the court of the victors.

Chabashira leaves us, but not before telling us about a midterm in three weeks.

As soon as she leaves, the somewhat quiet, shell shocked class erupts into pandemonium. Quarrellings, blaming, the works. Kushida can barely form the words in her mouth:

"So how am I supposed to live for the next month without any points!"
"There's a free meal option in the cafeteria. It's not as good, but it'll do"

I don't know if my reassurance will help, but she doesn't mention it again. Afterwards I go back to my seat and listen to Koji and Horikita's conversation. They start discussing wtf just happened and potential ways to mediate the behaviors. At one point, Horikita turns and asks me if there's anything I'd like to add. I decline.

Afterschool, I go back to the library to help out the librarian. It's like the cart of books nearly doubled, but the DDS is burned into my memory and I'm much faster at shelving. The librarian remarks at my improvement, and I thank her.

About half an hour into pacing and shelving around the library, I bump into Hiyori at a corner. Her hair stops just under my nose, and I catch a whiff of the almond and honey shampoo she must use. Before she can talk, I remember what Chabashira told us about classes.

"What class are you in?"
"Class C, Why?"
"No...reason"

She doesn't seem convinced. Mom always did say I was a bad liar.

"Could it be that...you feel oppositional to the other classes?"

*This girl's sharp and intuitive, to a point. it's not like I hate them, it's just that I feel more weary.*

"No, that's not it. I guess it's just cause I like to organize things. Just like these books here. I actually just finished reading this series by James Patterson. *holding up an Alex Cross trio triology*, so I thought I'd return them alongside these other books."

*It's like a lightbulb flipped in her head,*
"I love James Patterson: Alex Cross, Maximum Ride, oh my, I just can't seem to get enough of it. Do you frequently read mystery? What about The Silent Patient?"
"I just haven't gotten to it yet, Hiyori."

She seems much more vibrant and talkative.

*playfully making my voice sound pseudo-sophisticated.* "Well, Hiyori, I must finish my elephantine re-shelvements of this fine literature collection sitting on this cart. I must be going now"
"Yes,.. see you."

*I may have been joking, but I think my diction may have turned her on*

Class 1-D is much more well behaved. Everyone dares not even breathe wrong, with the exception of Sudo, and Koenji. Sudo seems to have grown more aggressive and hostile. Koenji is well...Koenji. Unapproachable and uncaring as ever. Oh well, not my circus nor my monkeys.

I decide to skip club aide work afterschool and study. Then I spend a few hours playing at the arcade. While most of the students in my class are struggling to get by, my 50,000 points are clearing the way. After an afternoon and semi-night of fun, I'm walking back to my dorm when I hear unintelligible talking. I glance around, no one's in sight. It's late and the streets are empty. It seems like it's coming from a narrow path near the the fence to the track. I briskly walk to the corner and see Manabu Horikita, and Suzune Horikita behind him. They don't appear to have seen me.....

Wait, HORIKITA? Are they...siblings? Horikita isn't that common of a name, but the way she's talking, it seems like she is.

"I came here to catch up with you"
"You were a fool to choose this school"

*Dang, her brother is relentless....Just like her. Guess it runs in the family*

"I'll reach Class A soon"
"Impossible"

Then he Kabedons her to the wall. Horikita looks shook. I've never seen her act this way. It's almost, comical in a sense. Even the Ice Queen fears fire. She's stammering and braces for impact when he proceeds to ready a blow.

Then Ayanokoji appears from the other side and grabs his wrist.

"You were really going to drive that in, weren't you? Let her go"
Manabu lets go, then just as soon aims a swift backfist at his cranium. Then a kick. Both narrowly miss. That would have hurt, but Ayanokoji is fast. I've never seen him act this way either.

"You move well. Do you practice something?"
"Piano and Caligraphy"

Manabu proceeds to reference a student who got a 50 in every subject on the entrance exam, and on the mock quiz. Koji dismisses it. Horikita looks in shock. I'm half in shock too, because wtf? Where'd this kid come from?

Manabu utters a few more words of strife and departs. He starts walking my way, and I make a mad, but quiet as can be dash towards my dorm. I take a long shower, and think about what I just witnessed. It seems that a lot of things go on under the shadows. Ayanokoji was very perceptive. Was he there by on purpose? Coincidence? I don't know.

He and Manabu are also good fighters. It makes me think. In cases like those, if someone is trying to fight you, what can you really do? There's no surveillance, and if I were to get injured, it's not like I could say anything without proof. The thought fills me with a sense of fear I haven't trained any martial art. The most violence I know is playing war, but even that's helpful. I should proably forge some weapons. There's also a boxing gym all the way at the far side of campus. Maybe I'll go.

The thoughts replay in mind a gazillion times as sleep slowly overtakes me.

The Midterm

The Midterm is approaching, I feel as if I've studied enough, but many others are quite anxious. Forming Study Groups seemed to have helped. Others...may have turned to more nefarious means.

By that I mean I saw Kushida and Ayanokoji shamelessly obtain test answers from an upperclassman. Sex appeal am I right? She's a demon, a demon with a pretty face. I'm just surprised nobody else has realized it yet.

Anyways, I've been trying to add more effectiveness to my day. I've started spending time at the boxing gym. It's mostly upperclassmen, though I did see a few 1st years, particularly Koenji. As usual, being Koenji, though he allows a few to hold his training bag. So far I've developed a workout plan and have just been getting in shape. Jump Rope, mountain climbers, bag sets, the runs. It's hard, but it's been fun.

I've been cutting down on gaming, but you definitely can't forget club aide work. It's always fun to get a request from the librarian and talk with Hiyori.

....

The Midterm. It struck fear into the hearts of many, and it wasn't even that bad. I passed, everyone passed, that is, except Sudo. I feared this would happen, he was off by just 1 point of the neccessary score needed to pass. It's almost laughable. Sudo looks crushed. Hey, I like basketball just as much as the next guy, but there's nothing anybody can do, it seems.

But, I was wrong, as Horikita and Ayanokoji leave the room and follow Chabashira. When they come back, they inform Sudo that his expulsion was rescinded. How, I don't know, but those two are really something....

The Night Before

"My name is Y/N (Let me know what you want name to be!). It's almost midnight. The sweat from my palms have gone sticky, and it's not from the mild April heart. Tomorrow marks the day of my entrance into ANHS, the #1 high school in Japan.... with 100% employment, graduates set to lead the country. I don't see myself doing anything as bold. I'm just a normal kid who likes to go to the arcade, watch anime, and play war. My mother saw it as a dream, and she demanded I go. A dream, huh? Going to a probably strict school with a bunch nerd preppies who can do no wrong seems more like a nightmare to me, but whatever. I get out of bed, and look at my suitcase, making sure I've packed everything to go. The bus comes early, and I really wouldn't want to walk.

Suitcase:

- Uniform + Other Clothes: The uniform makes me feel so important, despite myself.
- Toiletries: Gum-Gum Toothpaste, I've used it since I was a kid! My mom made sure i had it, among the new toothbrush, comb, and other things she packed 😄
- Laptop: I gotta keep my games y'know!
- Phone: My mom made me promise to call her every now and then.
- Important documents: Health Documents, Birth Certificate, etc.
- a bunch of other shit

Welp, all packed! I try to go back to sleep, but I can't for some reason. It's probably nerves. I hop on Youtube and watch videos of anime tsunderes until I fall asleep.

The First Morning

*DING DING*

"Stupid Alarm", I grumble. It's nice and the sun is just beginning to break through the clouds. I quickly get ready and say goodbye to my mother. She almost cries, and takes a picture of me in my uniform . I promise to call her and walk to the bus stop. I'm close to the beginning of the route, and given the early morning, no one else is really around.....

The X27 Bus Arrives, it's pretty empty inside, with only one other guy there sitting in the front, who is.......staring at a hand mirror. Not combing his hair or anything, just staring at himself with a pleasurable gaze. He doesn't even seem to notice me, and I trudge to the back of the bus, sitting in the corner.

From what my map says, the ride isn't too long, and at each stop, more people pile on until the bus is quite crowded, many of them fellow students. To be honest, I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this. A lot of these students are pretty hot, to be honest. I'm no friend of Dorothy, but oh my. At my grimy middle school, you could replace some of the kids with living garbage bags and nobody would notice. Maybe this school was the right choice after all-

"Why should I do something so detrimental with no benefit to myself?"

Those words bolt me out of my thoughts. I look up, and a blond haired girl is asking the self-absorbed guy I saw earlier to give up his priority seat to an old lady. No other seats are available. The young man proceeds to question why the one giving up his seat should be him? Which is a fair point, despite literally, the law saying that he must get up from his priority seat. He still seems to have no intention of doing so. The old lady eventually says not to worry. I look around at other students, a few glance at the scene, but no one cares....

I feel bad for the lady. When my mother was pregnant with me, she told me stories of not having anywhere to sit before when taking the bus. I got up from my seat and led the old lady to mine, a few students looked somewhat coldly at me. It gave me a odd feeling. As I begin to stand, the blond girl tells me "Thank you!" I respond with a suave, "No Problem", For a second, I feel like I've nailed the exchange. As we both turn away from each other, I catch a last second glance at the corner of her eye and-

*chills*

I can't explain why. Something about the eyes, her eyes. Whatever it was, a line from Scarface leaves a burning imprint on my brain:

the eyes chico, they never lie......

*shudder* It's probably nothing.

The First Day

Finally! The bus stops in front of this giant, uh, idk, megalobuildingcenter? It reminds me of American Dream. We all pile out. A staff worker greets us and tells us to head up the stairs then straight down the road towards the entrance hall for the welcoming speech by the student council president. As I walk down the road I'm struck in sheer awe of how big and magnificent this place is. Swimming Pools, Two Tracks, A Game Center, I could go on and on. I can't believe I'm going to live here...

As I reach the large entrance doors, a kid with red hair holds the door open for me. I thank him and grab it, but before going inside, I glance back at the scenery and spot a girl with black hair and a boy with brown hair all the way down at the steps. I think I saw them on the bus. They're just, standing there, looking at each other. I think I can see some words being uttered, but not what it is. Well, who cares, they're probably dating. This is an independent school though, so let's all pray they use protection before they start having to nurture instead of being the ones nurtured.

I go inside and listen to the speech. Manabu Horikita, what a funny name. The guy looks anything but funny. If he wasn't in a uniform you'd think he'd be some big corporate spearhead. I try to push past his sternness and look around. There's a lot of first year's here. I'd say 90% are hot. The rest are just abhorrent. No in between. After his speech, we all clap, and I go to my homeroom, Class 1-D.

Homeroom #1

Upon reaching class, I am greeted by feet, the same self absorbed kid with the hand mirror, is now clipping his toenails. They smell pretty good,- but that's not the point! He's sitting in the closest chair to the door, and I resolve to stay as far as possible, so I sit in the right corner all the way in the back, just like on the bus.

*Example -- 9 my seat, 1 is his seat, 0 is the door. Ofc there are more seats, just an example.>*

7 8 9
4 5 6
0 1 2 3

Anyways, more students come in promptly. There's a big diversity in personality. Some outgoing, loner, intimidating, etc. I'd put myself in the quiet category. I'd rather just like to watch anime all day, but oh well......Our homeroom teacher still hasn't come in, and eventually, some kid recommends introductions. Great, an icebreaker. The brown haired kid and black haired girl are sitting next to me, and look very uninterested.

He introduces himself as Yosuke Hirata, and a few others volunteer....

4 New Character Intros!:

Kikyō Kushida: The girl with the eyes. She looks like one of those defective barbie dolls. She seems super nice though, maybe I just need to get my eyes checked.

Haruki Yamauchi: A athletic guy, plays baseball and ping-pong.

Kokoro Inogashira: A timid girl who likes to sew. I'm sure she'll fall into obscurity like me.

Kiyokota Ayanokoji: (The kid with brown hair): Unlike the others, he doesn't say much about himself. No hobbies, likes/dislikes, your stereotypical average guy. I can dig that.

It's quiet for a second, and I reach up to scratch my head. Hirata assumes that I raised my hand and prompts me to introduce myself. All eyes are on me, and I take a split second to think of what to say.

"Hello, my name is Y/N. I like anime and video games. I look forward to the year with everyone!"

A few clap. After a few more introductions, a stern looking lady walks in. She introduces herself as Sae Chabashira, our homeroom teacher, and proceeds to distribute rulebooks and goes over the core concepts, and boy is it a lot! Class and Private Points, facilities, no contact with family (Looks like I won't get to send my mother anything 😞). Chabashira talks a bit more and ends homeroom There's no class today. This school system seems a bit strange, I'll have to go over the rulebook it later. The important thing is that I now have 100,000 points, worth 100K yen. I feel eager to spend some, so I look at the map to see what amenities to go to. Hmmmm....I think I'll go to the arcade, this place would be perfect though if it had a maid cafe, but maybe that'll be my impact on this school.

Anyways, I head over to the arcade. It's a brisk walk. Upon opening the doors, the experience could only be described as the Lotus Hotel and Casino: flashing lights, all kinds of games, and a small scaled restaurant in the corner. The place is huge! The purchase system is kind of like Dave and Buster's, you spend an amount of points for a game card, and you can win more points depending on how good you are.

Some people might thrive in the swimming pool. Some might thrive on an easel and paint. I thrive on the game. Before I even calculate how many points I'd be spending, I get the pay as you pay card, which tabs up all the points spent, and BOOM, I'm gone.

Let's Bounce, Flappy Bird, Basketball, Injustice, Zombie Apocalypse Shooter, even the trampoline park section. I am having a blast! After about an hour or so, I get a bit tired, so I walk to the restaurant part to grab some water and a snack.

I bump into a girl from my class.

New Character Intro:

Chiaki Matsushita: Quiet and seems like a caring Older Sister.

"So what brings you here Matsushita?"
"Nothing much, I was bored and didn't have much to do so I came here"
"Well, in that case, let me show you the invigorating world of games.", I say, as I bring her to Dance Dance Revolution.

After Dance Dance Revolution, we go on a tangent of fun, I show her tricks to get far in Crossy Road, Multiplayer Pac-Man, Mario Kart Arcade GP, and a bunch of other fun. By the end, we're throughly tired and on the chairs in the rest area.

*half laugh/half pant. Y'know Matsushita, I would have never guessed you would be so good at Halo. You saved us like 5 different times!*
*half laugh/half pant. Well, I have younger brothers, and they made me play with them.*
*Well, anyways, that was fun, but boy, I'm tired. I think I'm just gonna lie here for a bit*
*Have fun with that, we should do this again Y/N. *as she gets up to leave*....
*After taking a few steps, she turns around asks for my contact info*
*Ok, here's my phone number, Matushita*
*And here's mine... don't assume...um, that or anything!, it's just for convenience. Don't stay out here too long, lest you fall asleep and someone takes your game card and spends your points...* --- With that, she leaves.

After, I look at my point system tab. The arcade cost me 13K yen, definitely need to tone it down in the future. I'm also pretty tired, so I decide to stop by the convenience store to get a cheap sandwich and drink. I feel like a zombie walking there. Upon entering, I see Ayanokoji and the black haired girl. Ayanokoji briskly greets me. She bluntly introduces herself as Suzune Horikita. In comes a red haired kid from our class. Ken Sudo, he says.

New character Intro:

Suzune Horikita: She seems like she sees everyone else as inferior.

Ken Sudo: Athletic, intimidating, not a people person??!..I think.

As i wait for my sandwich to be made, I watch them talk for a bit. At one point, Ayanokoji glances at me. I get the same feeling I did with Kushida, his eyes....But unlike Kushida, it's not a matter of what's hiding behind his eyes. There's nothing there. They look dead, as in died long ago....

Or maybe I'm just overthinking things...I grab my sandwich and drink and leave before there conversation finishes. I see a group of upperclassmen walking towards the store as I'm heading to my dorm.

At my dorm, I go over the student handbook a couple more times. It's a lot to take in.

The Next Day

The next day, I head to my first day of classes. Chabashira starts rambling on about Algebra. It becomes quickly clear to me that this class isn't going to be normal. Put in simple terms, she doesn't care about our retention. Phones, Video Games, Beauty Works, are all prohibited on paper, but apparently not in reality. I wonder if this is how majority of rules will work.

I also think about the factions that have bloomed in the class. The Three Idiots. The girls of the powder puffs (which includes Matushitu, funnily enough), the athletes (Sudo and Yamauchi), etc. I... am not really in any group, but it's more or so like I'm somewhat welcome to engage. Expanding my circle matters, and having that option feels good. I decide to talk to some of the more hardcore loners during lunch, which, starts with the famous two... Horikita and Ayanokoji.

Why is it ALWAYS them....

"Well, hello there, guys!"
*Horikita doesn't respond, Ayanokoji does*
"Hello...Y/N, wasn't it?"
Those eyes....
"Right, So what are you eating today?'
*Without responding, he tips his plate and shows me his food. Simple Bento. A pang of nostalgia hits me, as my mother used to make me bento for lunch everyday 😞*
*As I get ready to ask Horikita the same, she tips her plate as well: barbecue chicken thigh, mac & cheese, caesar salad, some veggies.*
*Then as if I'm not there, they start talking about weird social interaction*

These guys are, in the words of Asuka Langley Soryu, "freakazoids"....

Anyways, I try to talk with the self absorbed kid, who I recently learned is Rokusuke Kōenji. He laughs with a, "Would you mind, Y/N-boy? The only purpose I see you having is holding my hand mirror for me"

New Character Intro:

Rokusuke Kōenji: Self Absorbed. Egotistical. He is the epitome of self-glaze.

.....Anyways, I also talk with Matushitu again, and the moment I walk over, the girls she's with start ooohing and awwhwing.

New Character Intro

Kei Karuizawa: Spoilted Entitled Milk personality, but can be quite funny ironically.

Maya Sato: Seems a bit more down to earth, but still similar.

....

The Days Go Bye?

The month flies, and take it from me!, Y/N is having fun! In swimming class, we have a 50m freestyle competition, and i finish just in front of Ayanokoji. I'm just goin with the flow, i make a habit to try and hang out with everyone, whether its holding the hand mirror, playing games with matushita, office hours with Chabashira, I try to make the most of this heaven.

End here. I covered most of the first 5 chapters, though I summarized more towards the end as I dont want it to be too long. Again, let me know what u think or anything you'd wanna see....

Comments from the Interviewer:

This student is the textbook definition of Average, but the term average often is used to signify negativity. Alongside balanced abilities, we have yet to see obvious strengths or weaknesses.

Their high cooperativeness makes them a reliable team member, but their tendency to avoid leadership and the spotlight makes their true potential difficult to gauge. We have high expectations of this student.

Overall, Y/N is viewed as a dependable yet unremarkable member of Class D.

Notes from Homeroom Instructor: "A student who attracts little attention so naturally that that few ever consider it may be intentional"

The next time you feel like letting your ego dictate your actions, or being a "tough guy/alpha male", watch this

and read the book "A long way gone" by Ishmael Beah, another soldier in Sierra Leone. A lot of these guys came to the city and I worked with them in my summer high school days, enrichment programs and the shit. They told me their stories, and shit was more tragic and made a lot of issues one might think is so bad here like a cakewalk. A lot of them were very smart, but there was sometimes something social lacking. Just like broken glass, you can try your hardest to put a mental state back together, but it'll never be the same.

How to bypass a thinkpad's supervisor password? (x 2-1 gen 9) (No Soldering/Open Laptop up)

So long story shortt I was vacationing after a grueling season in cancun and I randomly bought some laptop off some guy at a party. I was 99.59% wasted so I don't remember much but I do remember he rushed to sell it and i paid 200. So a few days later I opened it to take a crack on it but it just booted to boot menu. I did my research and found out that

  1. No Win OS
  2. Supervisor Admin Password Enabled
  3. Can't change boot order to load windows media device to install.

I have like 10 other's but I'd really want to fix this. How can I do this without soldering/opening laptop?

I'd
