Hello!
I want to rent a car from Gatwick Airport. I've rented multiple times with Enterprise and Alamo from other locations and never had an issue, I just never rented at Gatwick Airport (or in London in general).

However, last year, a friend of mine rented a car from Gatwick and said all car companies had a crazy deposit amount (1k +), including Alamo. It was an economy car, and that's usually what I rent as well. Are there weird London surcharges, or is Enterprise safe?

I couldn't find a subreddit specifically for that, so I'm trying here. I hope it's ok. My friend and I are visiting the UK soon and we want to spend a night champing (camping in old churches). There is a website where you can book and the info on there is very helpful, but I just can't seem to find information about check-in (before booking, that is).

If anyone has ever done this experience, is it self check-in, or does someone welcome you? We're just not sure when we'd be getting there to check-in exactly, so we wouldn't want that to be a bother.
