Hey guys I am learning to jewel rifle bolts. Here is a test bolt with 2 lines. What can I improve?

I am using cratex 6mm medium rods, using water as a lubricant/coolant (tried using light oil but I think it gums up the cratex).

I see that a few swirls are heavy, and I can tighten the pattern more, also the offset between the lines should be a bit bigger.

Rpm on the drill about 900. Should it be faster? Keeping the rod in contact about 5 sec, any less seems to little.

Appreciate any advice.
