EES at FRA

I’m leaving Pisa to Boston with layover in Frankfurt tomorrow and I have a layover for 1 hour 5 mins. I missed my connecting coming in at the time due to EES registration and passport control line, And tried to get ahead of it this time by calling Lufthansa (my carrier) for alternative routing but was repeatedly hung up on or given another route that would’ve added two additional days to my trip.

Can anyone tell me if they’ve had experience with exiting the EU through Frankfurt with the EES system and whether the process is any faster than coming in? Since we already gave the biometrics captured on the inbound I can just go straight to the passport control line without pre registering biometrics again? Can Lufthansa help expedite the process for tight connections?

For context my flight is PISA to Frankfurt arriving at “Area A” and then my departing gate to Boston is Z13

any tips to make the run from a gates to z gates faster? It’s only my second time at Frankfurt and last time I got in a confusing maze with getting from z to b, but this time we’re landing in area a from Pisa and then I need to get to z13 for my conneting to Boston. Thank you so much.

Advice on tight connection FRA

Not sure why my earlier post was removed but reposting below:

UPDATE:

Thanks so much for everyone who provided feedback. I appreciate it!

I did ultimately make the flight but there’s what happened:

I landed at 12:20 all the way on b side terminal 2, then the jetway and bus came and took 15 mins to deplane and get us to terminal 1, a side. I dashed out and was up the stairs to floor 2 for a side only to be met yet again with a long ass line that would’ve been 45 mins to go through. There was a group of people pleading with the guy managing the line to let them go first (for Denver and Boston). He refused. I dunno what happened with them because I just went ahead and asked the girl a queue ahead of me if I could get in front of her (in the nicest way) and she was nice about it. By now I got the notification it was boarding and I was about 1.5 stantions from the passport control desk. I unfortunately got a grumpy officer who took longer than usual to process me. But processing exits they only require the fingerprints, no face pic.

By the time I exited it was 1 pm. I had ten minutes to get to gate because it was supposed to close at 1:10 and so I’m dashing from a gate concourse 2 to z gates (floor 3) with the gate CHANGED from z13 to z66 which meant I had to yet again run across the entire z gates. I’m literally thinking I won’t make it because the clock is counting down and I’m sweating and heaving and running as fast as I can but the terminal is crowded and the walking escalators were full of people.

I get to z62 and there’s a passport check and luckily I had gotten a business upgrade so I was able to wait in a smaller line for passport checks whereas had I been in economy I would’ve been stuck in a longer line.

When I get to the gate it’s 1:08ish and I’m prepared to shout “wait for meeee” and then I see a bunch of people crowded around the desk.

The flight is delayed.

But they failed to update the app!! So I was hustling thinking I was behind!!

And so now I’m finally at gate but my lungs hurt and I’m wheezing and duck into a bathroom to splash water on my face and cough out whatever it is that’s irritating my lungs.

But I made it alive.

Except, the plane didn’t air condition itself in time before boarding so it is sweltering in the plane.

And so here we are.. waiting to depart.
