eBike Helmets Use & Recommendations.
Hello eBikers, I wanted to get opinions and if possible, recommendations on eBike helmets.
Im an avid user and own the JupiterBike DefiantPRO, which is a GREAT bike if anyone is wondering. I don’t wear a helmet when im out on it though, and my reason being is that I don’t generally go above 15 MPH and I rarely use a road with regular car traffic. I stick to sidewalks and backroads and general neighborhood areas whenever possible. If I ever catch myself hitting 19 or 20 MPH, im immediately slowing down, no matter how confident and safe I feel.
As I get more and more into the eBiking world, im starting to notice more organized rideouts here in the South Florida area and sometimes the organizers are strict about helmet use. I’ve been around bicycles for near 40 years and never thought of wearing a helmet mostly due to my safe riding, but im not against getting a small, minimalist helmet just to meet the requirement and it would not be a bad idea using one in an area im not familiar with, such as where these rideouts are.
