I just got an appointment for 22nd October Biometrics and 29th October Interview both in Chennai. I need to be back in the USA by 25th November. Is that enough time to get the passport back or is it too risky? This is for H1B in India

I’m looking for some clarity from people familiar with Amazon recruiting processes.

I applied for a Business Intelligence Engineer role with in UK. I completed my full interview loop last week (Monday to Thursday).

On Friday, I received an email from the recruiter asking to set up a call the following week to “discuss the outcome.” The call was scheduled for Monday at 1:45 AM my time because I’m currently in a different time zone and the recruiter is in the EMEA region.

I joined the scheduled call, but there seemed to be a technical issue. I was in the waiting room and could see that the host had joined, but I didn’t have an option to speak or use chat. I sent an email during/after the call explaining that I was in the waiting room but couldn’t speak or chat, and asked whether I should rejoin or reschedule.

A couple of hours later, the recruiter replied saying they also thought there was an issue because they were waiting and didn’t see me join or see me waiting in the room. They said they were available to connect then and that we could join the same call. Unfortunately, by that time I had gone back to sleep because it was very early in my time zone.

Separately, I noticed that the Amazon job portal now shows my application status as “No longer under consideration.”

I know the obvious interpretation is that this may be a rejection, but I’m confused because the recruiter still seemed willing to connect after the missed/technical call. I’ve now replied apologizing for missing their email and asking to schedule a time to reconnect.

For people who have gone through Amazon recruiting or know the process:

• Does “No longer under consideration” usually mean a final rejection after loop?
• Can that status ever appear because of an offer process, requisition change, role transfer, or technical/admin update?
• Would a recruiter still schedule or reschedule an outcome call if the decision is negative?
• Should I wait for the call, or is it reasonable to ask for the outcome by email?

I’m trying not to over read the portal, but I’d appreciate any insight into what to expect.

Would appreciate any help as I am spiraling.

Meanwhile, the Amazon portal now shows “No longer under consideration.” Trying to understand whether this usually means final rejection, or whether it could still be an admin/offer/requisition-status issue until I actually speak with the recruiter.

• Guest count: ~30–50 people
• Budget goal: ideally under $30k
• Events: Mehendi, Shaadi/Wedding Ceremony, Reception
• Looking for something elegant/intimate, not super extravagant

We’re currently looking for recommendations + realistic pricing for:

• Affordable venues for small Indian weddings
  • restaurants, boutique hotels, banquet halls, lofts, temples, rooftops, community spaces, suburbs, etc.
• Venues that already look beautiful and need minimal decor
• Any all-inclusive venues worth considering
• Decorators/florists familiar with Indian weddings
  • mandap, stage decor, sweetheart table, centerpieces, mehendi setup
• Indian bridal makeup/hair artists
• Indian wedding photographers/videographers
• DJs/music recommendations
• Indian caterers or restaurants that cater small weddings well

Would especially love insights on:

• Approx pricing ranges + hidden fees
• Biggest unexpected wedding expenses
• Things you wish you knew earlier
• Whether Friday/Sunday weddings are significantly cheaper
• Whether hosting some events at home actually saves money
• Final guest count + total budget if you recently planned a wedding here

Any vendor recommendations, sample budgets, spreadsheets, or lessons learned would be hugely appreciated.

I am planning to get married in 2026, sometime in fall. The main functions I am considering are haldi, sangeet and the actual shaadi.

I also would like to keep the budget in $30k. Can anyone provide recommendations for venues along with a cost estimate?
