Advice on suddenly quitting my job

Hi all, incoming 1L here. I posted here somewhat recently about my concerns with how stressful law school will be and how much free time I will have. I mentioned in that post that I will be working part time during 1L, and quite a few people responded by telling me that I was making a huge mistake. At first I sort of brushed off these comments, but now I realize that they were probably (almost definitely) right.

My school’s orientation (which involved attending several hours-long classes, completing actual assignments, a lot of reading, and doing a practice exam, among other things) recently concluded, and that alone made me extremely stressed. Given that, I have made the very difficult decision to put in my 2 weeks notice when I next work. It is an office job where I have unique responsibilities compared to my coworkers, and I have come to really enjoy it over the few years that I’ve been here. I am unsure how to best approach this since I initially told my boss that I would be fine to work, and adjusted my schedule accordingly.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle it? Please don’t tell me that I “should’ve quit sooner,” because trust me, I agree. Any help is appreciated

Is law school really that stressful??

Hi all, first time poster here, starting law school in about 2 weeks (TT). I'm posting to ask how everyone's experience in law school was. Based on what I've heard, I'm sort of under the impression that I'll be doing nothing except for going to class, studying, working my part-time job, and MAYBE sleeping sometimes. Is this true in your experience? In other words, were you able to find time to also "have a life" outside of school/work (go to the gym, just relax and unwind, etc.)? If so, how did you find that balance? I'm aware that this will be a lot of work and stress, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't at all anxious about it. Any information is greatly appreciated :)

Question on updating instance version/mods

Hi all, been using prism launcher for a little while and wanted to know how to best go about updating an instance's version as well as the mods I have installed. I want to update from 1.21.10 to the latest version, and all the mods I have installed are performance mods ("fabulously optimized"). When I try to update the mods, I am told that some are incompatible with the latest version of the game. I am nervous to proceed at this point because I don't want to risk corrupting my worlds, etc. Is this a potential risk if I am unable to install all of the mods? Would it be easier to just make a new instance in the launcher, install the mods separately, and copy the world over? Any info on how people usually go about this would be appreciated, as I have never updated an instance version or mods in prism launcher before.

Can I get banned for a squad mate going out of bounds?

Hi everyone, earlier today I joined up with a squad of people from discord to grind for wins. We played for a little while and I didn’t think anything besides “wow these guys are really good” until our last game. We got to the end and the final challenge was tail tag. One of my teammates managed to grab the tail and launch himself out of bounds using the moving map obstacles, which won us the game. I stopped playing after that, and when I DM’d him to ask what he just did, he didn’t explain. I wasn’t in a call with him or anything either, so I was just left kinda confused and frustrated so I logged off. All this is to ask, am I at risk of getting banned for my squadmates behavior? I am 99.999% sure he wasn’t actually hacking or using a cheat client, but rather just abusing the map obstacles. I am especially concerned because I WAS in a pre-made squad with him (and he was on my friend list) at the time that this occurred. Should I be worried?

Safe to use?

Hey everyone, just purchased and setup an XM2W 4K mouse. I sort of regret not looking into this device sooner because I just saw posts from about a year ago describing how Malware was spread using the configuration tool. Is this still an issue? Is there a way I can check if I’m infected? Can I safely update my firmware and such going forward or is that a risk as well? Also, in general is the tool safe to use in games like Minecraft and steam games that are VAC-protected, or am I put at risk of a ban? Idk how this stuff works and those posts got me super anxious. Any info is appreciated

Questions about hackers & PVP Overhaul Mod

Hi everyone, I recently started by first playthrough of DS1 Remastered on Steam. However, I have heard from friends that there is a somewhat relevant issue of hackers invading player worlds and killing NPCs, cheating in items, getting players banned, and even bricking users' PCs. I have somehow made it past Ornstein and Smough without encountering a hacker, but I want to do whatever I can to prevent it from happening for the rest of my playthrough.

I've seen users online talking about the PVP Overhaul Mod as a potential solution to the cheater issue, but I haven't seen much on how the mod actually works. Apparently it prevents cheaters from killing NPCs and bosses, which is nice, but does it actually prevent hackers from cheating in other ways?

A few questions I have regarding the mod:

  • Will cheaters still be able to invade my world with hacked items, invincibility, or be able to kill me instantly?
  • Can cheaters still use any exploit (through hacked items or any other method) to corrupt my save file, get me banned on DS1, or brick my PC?
  • Should I still avoid picking up items from online players entirely?
  • Are steam achievements disabled?
  • I am aware of the 'legacy mode' that the mod offers. Does this keep ALL gameplay features as they are in the original game? I really ONLY want to use this mod to prevent issues related to cheaters, no other gameplay changes.
  • If I want to play co-op, help other players with boss fights, etc., does that all remain the same?
  • Is the mod worth it? Are there any other ways to simply prevent cheaters without all the extra stuff? I've been backing up my save file but idk how much good this will do if I got banned (or my PC bricked) because of a hacker lol
  • Is there any risk of a steam ban or game ban DUE TO this mod?
  • How will my current unmodded save file transfer over if I install the mod?
  • Any other potentially useful information regarding the mod

Sorry for the long post and if these questions have been answered elsewhere already. I've been searching but couldn't find too many details on these topics. Thanks!

Can I change my choice at the end?

Hi everyone, going for platinum in this game and have been having a blast. That said, I was hoping to be able to backup my save file and go through each of the three endings without having to play through the entire game three times. That said, before backing up my save file I spoke to Gehrman and chose to refuse, triggering the boss battle (I didn’t know this was the end at the time). I lost the battle, however I wanted to know if there’s any way I can change my choice to “submit your life,” as anytime I enter that area now, the battle triggers without me even speaking to gehrman. Am I locked out of that choice completely now for this game cycle? Thanks
